Morning sunlight filtered through the curtains of the safe house.
For the first time in weeks, there were no gunshots.
No explosions.
No frantic phone calls.
Just silence.
Victoria stood in the kitchen, struggling to pour herself a cup of coffee with one arm still in a sling.
"You know," Emily said from the doorway, smiling, "there are easier ways to make coffee."
Victoria looked over her shoulder.
"I've always been terrible at asking for help."
"I noticed."
Emily walked over, took the coffee pot from her, and filled two mugs.
Victoria watched her quietly.
"I kissed an FBI agent."
Emily laughed.
"And I kissed the head of the Moretti family."
"I think we're both in trouble."
"I think you're right."
For a brief moment, they forgot about Volkov.
Forgot about Atlas.
Forgot about the war.
They simply smiled at each other.
Walker cleared his throat from the doorway.
"I hate interrupting..."
Emily raised an eyebrow.
"No, you don't."
Walker smiled.
"Not even a little."
He laid a folder on the table.
"We've identified the location marked 'Eclipse.'"
Victoria's smile faded.
"What is it?"
"An old financial district beneath Lower Manhattan."
Luca frowned.
"The abandoned subway tunnels?"
Walker nodded.
"Not abandoned."
"Converted."
Emily opened the folder.
Blueprints.
Satellite images.
Security layouts.
The deeper they looked, the more disturbing it became.
"This isn't a hideout," Emily whispered.
"It's a fortress."
Across the city, Volkov stood inside the vast underground complex.
Dozens of computer screens covered one wall.
Men and women moved between workstations.
Weapons were stacked neatly in locked crates.
This wasn't just a criminal headquarters.
It was a command center.
Richard Hayes entered.
"The FBI has identified Eclipse."
Volkov didn't seem surprised.
"They're supposed to."
Hayes frowned.
"You wanted them to find us?"
Volkov smiled.
"I want them to come."
He pointed to a digital map of the complex.
"They'll think they're attacking me."
"But in reality..."
"...they'll be walking exactly where I want them."
Later that afternoon, Gabriel sat with Father Michael in the church garden behind a temporary parish house.
"I don't know who I am anymore," Gabriel admitted.
The old priest smiled gently.
"You are not defined by the lies you were told."
"But by the choices you make now."
Gabriel looked down.
"Do you think Victoria can forgive me?"
Father Michael chuckled softly.
"My son..."
"She forgave you the moment she knew you were alive."
Gabriel smiled for the first time that day.
That evening, Emily found Victoria standing on the roof of the safe house.
The skyline glittered before them.
Victoria didn't turn around.
"I keep waiting for this to disappear."
"What?"
"This."
She gestured between them.
Emily stepped closer.
"It won't."
"How can you be sure?"
Emily took Victoria's hand carefully, avoiding her injured arm.
"Because it's real."
Victoria looked into her eyes.
"What happens when this is over?"
Emily smiled.
"I still want that quiet life."
"And the dog?"
Victoria laughed.
"Definitely the dog."
Emily leaned closer.
"I'll hold you to that."
Victoria's smile slowly faded into something softer.
"I'm scared."
Emily looked surprised.
"Of Volkov?"
Victoria shook her head.
"No."
"I'm scared that if we survive..."
"...you'll realize loving someone like me costs too much."
Emily gently rested her forehead against Victoria's.
"I already know what it costs."
"And I'm still here."
Victoria closed her eyes.
For the first time since becoming head of the Moretti family...
She allowed herself to believe she deserved to be loved.
Emily kissed her softly once more.
Longer this time.
Warmer.
Not rushed.
When they finally pulled apart, Walker's voice crackled over the radio.
"Everyone to the briefing room."
"It's time."
Victoria squeezed Emily's hand.
"The final battle?"
Walker answered over the radio before Emily could.
"We've found Eclipse."
"And tomorrow..."
"...we're going in."
The room fell silent.
Tomorrow, the hunt for Adrian Volkov would finally come to an end.
Or so they hoped.
