When Jacob opened his eyes The Lighthouse was looking at him. They were sitting on the edge of his bed once again. "If you knew I was already dead, why show me all of this?" Jacob asked. The Lighthouse thought about it for a few seconds and responded "Because the universe has to respect your choices. I told you before, everything you do has a reaction. I didn't want your death to be the last piece of yourself you left on this side. And now it won't be." Jacob thought for a moment. Then said "So, me choosing to see them will have a reaction on the universe?" "You choosing to visit your family will have a lasting effect on many. Including them. They won't see it, but they'll.. Jacob interrupted him "They'll feel it." The Lighthouse turned to Jacob and smiled. "You got it." He said as he stood up. Jacob reached for the pack of Newports that lay next to him and lit one. He pulled the cigarette. Exhaled, and pulled again. The Lighthouse looked at Jacob, barely holding back laughter. Jacob stood up and pulled the cigarette again. "What's so funny?" Jacob asked as he exhaled. The Lighthouse smiled before saying "Nothing, it's just," he pointed at the cigarette in Jacob's hand "You know those things will kill you." Jacob gave The Lighthouse a very serious look. Then half smiled "I'm not gonna lie, that was funny." The Lighthouse smiled back at Jacob. "So," Jacob said as he turned towards The Lighthouse, "I guess now is when you really beam us up, huh Scotty?" The Lighthouse rolled his eyes "There will be no beaming up Miles, even though I do get the reference." Jacob looked at The Lighthouse. "So what do we do now? How do we get to the other side?" The Lighthouse looked at Jacob before touching his shoulder. "All you have to do is," he said to Jacob "close your eyes."
