Let's get one thing clear:
God didn't ask you to be fake - people did.
Somewhere along the way, "Christian" started to mean "perfect."
Perfect clothes.
Perfect smile.
Perfect church attendance.
Perfect clap-on-beat praise.
But behind all that… people are depressed. Hurting. Struggling. Secretly sinning. Quietly questioning.
So now I ask you - are you afraid to be real with God because you think He can't handle the mess?
Or are you afraid to be real with people because they'll judge what God already forgave?
Look at the People God Loved in the Bible…
Moses had a speech problem and killed a man.
David committed adultery and murder.
Rahab was a prostitute.
Peter cussed and cut somebody.
Paul persecuted Christians and called himself "the chief of sinners."
And yet God used them to change the world.
Not because they were perfect.
But because they were honest, surrendered, and willing.
God Wants the Real You
Not the churchy you.
Not the Instagram caption you.
Not the "everything is fine" you.
He wants the real, unfiltered, scarred, doubting, emotional, raw you.
Because that's where relationship starts.
That's where healing begins.
What Did Jesus Do?
Jesus didn't roll with the religious elite.
He pulled up with the sinners, tax collectors, fishermen, and outcasts.
He didn't rebuke the woman caught in adultery - He covered her in grace (John 8:1 - 11).
He didn't shame the woman at the well with five husbands - He offered her living water (John 4).
He didn't avoid the lepers, the blind, or the demon-possessed - He touched them, loved them, healed them.
So why do we try so hard to act brand new?
Holiness Isn't About Perfection - It's About Surrender
To be holy means to be set apart, not flawless.
You're not supposed to never mess up. You're supposed to live in a way that says, "God, I want You more than I want this sin."
Holiness is a lifestyle of choosing God - even when your flesh is screaming otherwise.
And guess what?
You can laugh.
You can joke.
You can wear Jordans, drink coffee, and love Jesus at the same time.
Holiness isn't about losing your personality - it's about letting God purify your purpose.

What parts of myself do I feel like I have to hide from God?
Who taught me that I couldn't be both human and holy?
When was the last time I felt safe being real in my faith?
Scriptures to Reflect On:
1 Samuel 16:7 - "Man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart."
Hebrews 4:15 - Jesus sympathizes with our weaknesses.
Romans 3:23 - "All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."
James 4:8 - "Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you."
Psalm 51:17 - "A broken and contrite heart, God will not despise."
Final Thought:
God isn't looking for the "Sunday version" of you.
He's looking for the surrendered you.
The version of you that says, "God, I'm a mess… but I'm Yours."
And that - not perfection - is where the power begins.
