Chapter 13: The Obsession

After a couple of days in the office, Charu again requested Samrat to leave the library, to which Samrat insanely reprimanded her and said he felt he had some connection with the book. God selected him to provide justice to people who had suffered in the past. He told her to keep away from him. Upon listening to this, Charu left him alone. He was not paying any attention to his office work and also forgot about his dreams. One day, he was continuously thinking about the book in the office, on which his superiors got frustrated and scolded him. Samrat also became angry and broke the office monitor.

On the same evening, Charu visited his house and confronted him about his fanatic behavior towards the book and library. She alerted him that how would he manage his life and dreams with this behavior. But Samrat was extremist towards the book and was not ready to listen to anything; he ordered her to leave him alone.

In the night, he went to the library with full enthusiasm and sat just below the shelf from where the book usually falls. But for an hour, there was no sign of any book; he became tense and went to the washroom for a cigarette. After returning, he was surprised to see that the book was on the table. He picked up the book and went to his table and started flipping the pages. He came across one story:
