Chapter 2: Help!

December 26th, 2080.

What should I do? There's nothing to do here other than write in this notebook, read and exercise. I can't exactly escape either. I never expected to be so isolated from the world. What even was the point of all of this? I should just make a list of things to do so I can regain some sanity.

Jay's list #??

Cook in bulk

Eat breakfast

Do some chores

Take a shower

Exercise

A group of guards walked into the room, carrying a small digital clock. These types of clocks are rare. They used to be used in the 2010's, however in the 2080's they are antique and can be sold for a high price. The guards placed the clock on my nightstand while I read. Eventually I fell asleep, but?.

?????????????????????????????????????????

December 27th, 2080.

I woke up and started hearing random voices. Were they the other participants? What is happening? They're all yelling. Why are they all yelling? Were they being tortured? I felt anxiety surge through my entire being. I continued hearing clusters of yells. I can't even describe what I'm hearing, it sounded so horrid and inhumane. I shook in my bed, crying repeatedly, trying to make sense of what was happening. I heard the door open, when I saw the assistant. I don't know if I'm seeing things or if the assistant was really there. I think I've completely lost my mind. My hallucination of Rose stood there watching me suffer silently while smirking. What type of person was she to just sit there and do nothing!!?? The lines between reality and hallucinations blurred. My sweaty palms clenched until they turned white. I tried punching her, but she left. My hand had come into contact with the door. My hand started to bleed and I sat there for a moment. The screams continued to echo as I looked for where the band aids were. I got the first aid kit and began to bandage my wounds. Somewhere in the back of my mind I knew that my rage and my anxiety were probably unfounded and this will probably be the last time I ever have a coherent thought.

The yells had completely stopped. I questioned if what I heard was real or if everything was an illusion my brain had made up. It felt like this white room was darker than it actually was. I got up and tried to continue my day. At night, I fell asleep clinging onto my sheets tightly as if they were a weapon to use against someone and I violently cried as I continued to hear yelling through the white walls.

December 28th, 2080.

I woke up and the room was spinning. Bright lights appeared before me. Cindy, my bed was creaking loudly as if she felt my discomfort. Wait?. I don't remember ever calling my bed Cindy. What's happening to me? I tried to breathe deeply, over and over and over again. My heart palpitates as I cry tears of fear and pain. The nightmare continued for a while until everything went dark.

December 31st, 2080.

I woke up to Cindy creaking loudly as if to wake me up. Today is New Year's eve. Cindy and the rest of the people in my room will be celebrating with me tonight so I have to make a list of ingredients to make a ton of recipes.

Get sugar

Get creme

Get Alcohol

Somehow get a torch

Get some eggs

Hopefully they would like it. Cindy creeked repeatedly as if to say that she'd like what I would make either way. John just stood there, silent like his twin brother Joe. Barbara also stood silent, however she helped me by giving me the ingredients I needed. I combined all the ingredients to the best of my ability. It was calming and nice to just make something in the kitchen. It was nice, It really was nice. Is it night time? I don't know.

"Cindy? Is it nighttime?"

"Yes." Cindy said.

"Well Happy New Year! Let's drink !"

I grabbed a can of beer and downed the whole thing.

My intrusive thoughts had arrived. I saw the knife that I had used to make breakfast earlier. It was sharp. I wondered what it felt like to just slice into my skin. Would it hurt? Would I bleed out? I'm not sure I should do that. After all, my friends are all here.

I stared at the knife.

A man grabbed me and pulled the knife out of my hand. It was not one of the twin brothers. It was nobody that I knew. The man had a blank face. He didn't even have a face. It was just an empty mask. He had no nose, no eyes, no mouth. It was like seeing an eldritch horror in person. I panicked. I grabbed him and slammed him against the ground. The twins kicked, Cindy and Barbara held him down. I slapped him repeatedly. The guy was no more. There was no threat to us anymore. Did I just kill a man? No? That thing is not a man. He's a monster. He deserved to die.
