A Letter Without a Name
On an otherwise ordinary morning, a letter appeared in her mailbox. No return address. No postage stamp. Just her name, written in sharp, familiar handwriting.
She ran her fingers over the envelope before tearing it open. Inside was a single sheet of paper. A drawing of the almond tree - shaded, detailed, just the way she always described it in her letters. Beneath the drawing were four words that sent her heart racing:
"I'm coming back home."
No signature. No date. But she didn't need one. She would know Elijah's handwriting anywhere.
She pressed the letter to her chest, breath caught between joy and disbelief. Could it really be? After all these years? Was this a dream, a cruel joke, or a miracle?
She didn't care. All she knew was that the letter had found her. And now, it was time to return to the tree not to wait, but to welcome.
