Both the little girl and the bartender travel back in time. It was the same bar, with destruction evident in a broken table and shattered window. All liquor is broken while some are filled with a burning tablecloth. Multiple flames lit up brightly in contrast to the town's darkness. An orange light grew brighter than the street light as bystanders standing on the side road got too frightened to save the man, who was pinned down to the brick road with the leather boot of the dangerous mafia in the state.
The bartender can only stand there and watch his past self being beaten up to near death, while the girl still sits at the table, crossing her legs and putting her chin in her hand. The bar owner was shown to be rescued by other staff while attempting to protect the bar, a sacred place that unites the community together.
The mafia tosses a wounded bartender into the bar via a shattered window. He landed near the wooden stages with a broken chandelier nearby. The sound of a shotgun echoed through the street, and everyone fled from that area. No one dared to turn back for a second, as everyone was scared for their lives. Flames begin to spread from the wooden frame to the ceiling, the wallpaper burns away like paper, and fragments of the wooden ceiling decoration fall little by little.
The bartender starts to recall the pain he experienced at that moment, although the situation before him is a mere virtual part of his forbidden memories. He watched the powerful man stab him with a melted steel through his abdomen, retaining the fragile body in place as he continued to insult the drying bartender on the ground. He and his buddy flee the screen as they are satisfied with an absurd victory over a weak, fragile man on the ground.
The dying man on the ground tries to free himself, but he doesn't have the strength in his muscles anymore. He felt paralyzed, so that is the experience he remembers at the moment, lying down on the hot floor with melted steel in his body. His past self lay down with no hope of being rescued as he watched the ceiling slowly fall apart.
Suddenly, things are frozen in time. The girl was no longer at the table, but a mysterious person had taken her place. By chance, the bartender realizes the figure in front of him was no stranger to his life.
A figure of a woman in a deep blue sheath dress with matching half-length gloves. She sits comfortably in the high chair, crossing her left leg over her right, revealing a beautiful limb underneath a black lace legging.
"Such a pity for an innocent soul like you to be left out among the flames."
She mutters to herself, then smokes a cigar. She looks down at the paralyzed body, then gets up to sit by his side, offering a chance at his life.
A chance to escape the sinister.
A chance of a quite lovely life.
A chance to be something meaningful.
That is the offer death told him. An agreement to accompany the lost soul in exchange for living his dream job again. It sounded too odd to be true that Death would offer such a generous opportunity to someone like him. It could be that Death was looking for excitement to escape boredom in jobs or experiment with the torturing method on one of the unfortunate souls. None of that matters because he doesn't care about the intention behind this offering. He just wanted to live.
The bartender watches as the woman confronts his paralyzed body while accepting the offer. She gets up and turns to the standing bartender, who starts to recall everything he had always pushed away behind the curtain. His body froze as if he had been iced in the Arctic Ocean.
"Do you remember now, or should I say do you remember this face?"
Snap!!!!!!
In the blink of an eye, the bartender finds himself back in the present, standing among the tables in the bar, while the girl still sits at the same place with her customer, changing into a white shirt with long sleeves and a blue skirt jumper. He recalls everything now. His journey as the top professional bartender, his subtle joy in the urban town, yet none of that matters as much as his memory of her.
