Though Brookann knew she was a very spontaneous yet a little off beat at times, like a bottle of blonde dye, was also a very deep yet organized person who loved to place things in her journal. That seemed to be what she did quite frequently here lately.
As she was opening the hidden spot she placed it, she could smell the leather of the binder along with the cedar of the dresser drawer. When she grabbed it, her fingers seemed to take on a new flow, the cover was as though it had come straight from the time of the Renaissance, and a small yet cryptic lock kept all her secrets tucked away from the world. She once again filled her glass with what was becoming her sweet red wine and savored another taste before she took herself to the couch where she knew her husband would be so far into his history channel he wouldn't bother her.
Shame on her though.... she giggled out loud because the wine was to her head. Stopping for a moment she turned, returned to the kitchen grabbed the wine bottle and this time brought it with her. As she settled herself on the sofa she glanced over at Brad, which once again didn't move a muscle or notice she was even there.
So with her favorite pin and journal in hand she began writing her thoughts down, as though the minute she didn't see them on paper, they would all vanish into thin air.
She had already drank the contents in the wine glass too complete loneliness so she poured herself more; she noticed her husband looked over at her with suspicion. Brookann just asked him if he wanted a glass and gave him a why "Yes darlin I'm up to somethin!" look. As she looked down at what she had already said in her journal so she could read her thoughts for the day, feelings of fear and gut wrenching terror came about her, Brookann noticed the things she had written wasn't at all about Austin or even want she thought she was thinking.
She began shaking so badly she could verily hold on to her journal. Brookann began to reread the words for a second time, shock and horror ran through her blood, she couldn't believe what she was reading, it had to be too much wine.
Every word of her past had been placed in some detail she felt was forgotten, she grabbed her glass yet again it was empty she threw it across the room in pure anger, "How?" she spoke with a voice of weakness, how is it that she would think of such horrible things without a thought to what she was doing, why did her past have to always get in her way? Hot steaming tears ran down her cheeks as she started to really pay attention to what she had wrote.
Brad jumped from his chair with worry in his face or was it anger either way he demanded to know what the hell was going on? Brookann looked up at him and said, "What do you care you wouldn't understand it anyway, it doesn't involve your job!" As she yelled out the harsh words towards Brad in anger the leather binder fell to the floor, even on the carpet when it hit in her ears it could have shattered a window. She went running into the bedroom and slammed the door Brookann swore that her past was coming to haunt her.
And it seems it is starting to do just that. As Brad stood in amazement still trying to get a grasp as to what just happened, he walked over and picked up the binder his wife was writing in and there he learned of something he wasn't even sure he could comprehend. As every word absorbed into his brain, he didn't know if it was out of shock or that his wife was having a nervous breakdown. A cold chill ran down his back as the words sank in to what he was reading.
"When one plays games, it can become haunting. As each day arises you think your world could not be worse then when you're held to keep a secret about what you saw, what you felt, who touched who. Is it real, and did daddy really touch you in the places he shouldn't have, besides the depth of your mind? When will you believe you're not always in the mist of normal, that there really are monsters out there, that your daddy didn't save you from? Or maybe daddy needed saving from you!"
Brad went to the bedroom door, turned the knob. It was locked. He gently asked Brookann if she was okay?
