Chapter

As Austin set and listened more to the intriguing story Brookann was telling him, he felt as though he was watching one of those abused kids flicks on Lifetime Network, but he only would ask questions here and there. He felt he didn't need to rehash the abuse part, hearing her screams was bad enough. He didn't need her falling apart on him again, not when he had her jabbering the way she was about her good times and bad times at the home, or that after her last about with the pervert of a father she had is when she took off and was heading back four days laters to go to a friend's and got caught by the cops. Austin hung on every word, it gave him so much insight about the women he had fallen in love with so he set and listened as any good friend would do.
"So moving right along, explain this dream you had while you where living in the home?" Brookann had to think for a moment she was trying to forget that part so Austin wouldn't think she was out of her mind. "Well, when my father didn't get the birth certificate to the home as I thought he would I didn't think much of it until a couple days later and I awaken from having this crazy dream about the photos I had told you about earlier, you know the little girl, that was my cousin." I called my grandma and was explaining it to her and that's when the ball dropped. "Sweetheart, I think you better have a talk with your father!"
So needless to say I jumped on the phone and told him, "Get your ass up to the children's home and bring my birth certificate because I bet my mother's name isn't the same on it as I have been saying my whole life!" "He did with some cock a mamy story of this and that and my real mother sold me for a car so she could go into boot camp." Well everyone in high schools knows that the branch of your choice will come get you if you need a ride, I didn't believe him."
"It took me from sixteen to nineteen to find her only because I waited till I got out of school, but here nor there I found her and that's all that matters." Austin asked, "So where was she... She just happened to be in Oklahoma that weekend. Cause she actually lived in Hawaii so talk about a small world.
By this time I had retrieved my baby album and you should have seen all the markings my step mother had made. Crossing out my mom's name putting her name, it was horrible. The only reason she got away with it was my father had a thing for women with the same names.
Austin smiled and still at this very moment felt that Brookann was the most beautiful person, not only on the outside but the inside too, he could have ever had come into his life. "Brookann why did think I would think you where dirty?" With a long pause she finally spoke and said....., "Because, what decent man would ever want someone with such a sorted past, waking up screaming from night mares she didn't remember where they where coming from, but only felt they were about herself but couldn't be sure." With a pause and shaking voice continued, "That's just something you share with a good friend, my gosh, it's not like I have a lot of them beating down my door, and I sure didn't want to lose YOU!"
At that moment she didn't even realize she had moved across the room to lose the chill she imagined Austin had to be feeling in his blood, she stood there wanting so desperately to ask Austin what he truly was feeling. "Well if you ask me?" Austin said to the same page as her thoughts. I would have rather killed your father than to hear another scream come from that beautiful mouth of yours."
But since I have already been to the smack down for murder that wouldn't be very friendly of this ole guy now would it?" Brookann turned and smiled a wary smile and walked over to him, Austin pulled her in kissed her deeply and let her know., "I'm in love with you too!"
