NOT BY ACCIDENT, BUT BY CHOICE

"Not By Accident, But By Choice" In a picturesque village, Saira and Dhrub meet during a vibrant festival and feel an instant, unspoken connection. Though they try to hide their feelings, repeated encounters deepen their bond. Through growing friendship, jealousy, and emotional realisations, they come to understand their love for one another. Eventually, Dhrub confesses his feelings, and Saira reciprocates, marking the start of a heartfelt romance. The story emphasises that True love is not just about staying together — it’s about growing individually and still choosing each other after life has changed you. Sometimes, separation isn’t the end, but a journey that helps two hearts find their way back stronger, wiser, and more ready to love.

Chapter 2

PART-06

Where they sit down and have a deeper conversation

About what happened between them, and where they are now?

[Setting: A quieter corner of the ballroom, near a small table with two chairs. They each have a drink in hand. The music hums in the background, but here, it feels like it's just the two of them.]

Dhrub (pulling out a chair for her):

"Sit? Just for a few minutes. No pressure."

Saira (hesitates, then nods slowly):

"Okay."

[They sit. For a moment, neither speaks. The weight of unspoken years hangs between them.]

Dhrub (finally breaking the silence):

"So... you became an artist. I saw some of your work last year.

You use a different name now."

Saira (smiling faintly):

"Saira Mir. It's easier to leave the past behind when you change a little of yourself."

Dhrub (softly):

"Did it work?"

Saira (looking into her glass):

"Sometimes. And you? Business suits and big deals?"

Dhrub (laughs quietly):

"Yeah. Funny, right? I always hated the idea of being one of them. Now I am."

Saira (meeting his eyes for the first time):

"We were so different back then... so stubborn."

Dhrub (nods):

"We were kids, Saira. We thought love was enough to beat the world.

Turns out, sometimes it's not."

Saira (voice softening):

"I blamed you for a long time."

Dhrub (quietly, painfully honest):

"I blamed myself too. For letting you go. For not fighting harder."

[A pause. The tension eases, replaced by something softer - regret, forgiveness, and understanding.]

Saira (whispering):

"Maybe... we needed to lose each other to find ourselves."

Dhrub (smiling sadly):

"Maybe."

[He looks at her - really looks. The years have changed her, but her spirit, the way she carries pain with quiet strength - that is the same.]

Dhrub (after a long breath):

"Would you... ever want to catch up properly? Like old friends. No past. No expectations."

Saira (considering, then smiles - a real smile this time):

"I think... I'd like that."

[They raise their glasses, clink them softly. Somewhere between ending and beginning, a new chapter quietly waits for them.]

PART-07

End of the Day - Memories Rekindled

[Setting: The ballroom has mostly emptied. The music has slowed to a soft hum.

Saira and Dhrub sit together now at a corner couch, more relaxed, the night stretching quietly between them.]

Saira (leaning back, a little nostalgic):

"Remember that summer when we tried to run away with nothing but a backpack and two hundred bucks?"

Dhrub (laughing, shaking his head):

"We didn't even make it past the bus station. You cried because you forgot your sketchbook."

Saira (grinning):

"It wasn't just a sketchbook. It was my dream."

Dhrub (softly):

"It always was. You were the brave one."

[They fall into an easy rhythm - memory after memory tumbling out, some sweet, some painful, but all softened by time.]

Dhrub (smiling at a memory):

"And what about the time we got caught stealing mangoes from Mr. Banerjee's garden?"

Saira (giggling):

"You blamed it all on me! You said I made you do it."

Dhrub (mock serious):

"Technically, you did."

Saira (playful glare):

"You were always such a terrible liar."

[They laugh again, and this time, there's no tension. Only warmth. Only the realization that the bond they once had - the laughter, the friendship, the silent understanding - had never truly left.]

[As the night deepens, they sit quietly, the weight of old pain lifting, replaced by something lighter - maybe friendship, maybe hope, maybe something new entirely.]

Saira (softly, after a pause):

"Not all of it was bad, was it?"

Dhrub (shaking his head, voice steady):

"No. Some of it... some of it was the best part of my life."

[Their eyes meet. No more anger. No more regrets. Just two people, grateful for what was, and curious about what could be.]

Dhrub (smiling tenderly):

"Maybe the best parts are still ahead of us."

Saira (smiling back, heart lighter than it's been in years):

"Maybe they are."

[Outside, the first hints of dawn begin to color the sky. A new day waiting. A new story just beginning.]
