I pace up and down in my room,trying to contain my frustrations. After all he and I have been through,he decides to pull a stunt like this? I can't believe him! Just thinking about his face makes my blood boil.

I try to think of something. Something that will hurt him as much as he hurt me. I then run down the stairs,bumping into my mom. "Hey Lacey,you okay?" She asks concerned. "I'm fine,completely fine," I don't sound very convincing. She looks at me,as if she's waiting for me to answer truthfully. "Okay,maybe I'm not fine,"I respond,causing her to embrace me in a warm hug,which calms me down almost immediately.

After a few seconds,she asks in a soft,motherly tone, "Now,tell me what happened." I end up telling her everything,from the guilt of Natalie's accident,to the reason why James has been ignoring me. She never judges me in any way,she only looks at me,listening attentively.

"And now,I have no clue what to do," I say,feeling completely hopeless. She takes a moment,trying to gather her thoughts. "Honey,I know it's hard,but if you love someone?you don't give up after one fight. James was completely wrong in the way he treated you,but I also know you two have come too far to throw in the towel now. I am very disappointed in James,but I know you two have something special. Don't make any haste decisions you'll regret," she says,smiling softly. I return the smile and give her another hug. "Thanks mom," I whisper. "You deserve all the happiness in the world,don't settle for less,"she says,leaving me with a last piece of advice.
