I am awakened by the sound of my mom's voice, "Honey, you have to get up,it's time for school." I groan, unable to get up,then suddenly feel the light shine brightly on my face. My mom opened up the blinds as an attempt to get me out of bed. "Mom!" I say angrily, putting the pillow over my face. "Lacey Marie Jones, get your butt out of bed, before I make you," my mom says. I sigh heavily, deciding not to test her patience, and get out of bed. As I get up,I check my phone, and come across a few messages from Andrew.
"Hey Lacey"
"Hello? Lacey? You there?"
"Are you mad at me?"
I scoff, then decide to get ready for school. As I run down stairs,I trip, missing the last step. Luckily, I fall into James's arms. Our eyes lock, causing us to gaze into each others eyes. The moment lasts a few seconds, before he finally breaks the silence, "Umm,Elle, not to ruin the moment, but I don't know if I can hold you much longer." I quickly get up,totally embarrassed. "What?what are you doing here?" I ask. "Your mom called me. She was afraid you'd miss the bus,so she asked me to drive you to school," he says smiling. "Or would you rather walk?" he says smirking. I give him a good old death stare, causing him to get nervous. "Let me just get my bag," I say, running to the study. I come back, only to find him eating a piece of toast my mom set aside for me. "Are you eating my breakfast?!" I ask in an irritated tone. "I'm sorry,I haven't eaten breakfast yet!" he says, shoving the last piece in his mouth. "Oh you?" I say, glaring at him,"Let's just go!" I run out the door. He follows my lead, and closes the door behind him.
I get in the car, open the window, then scream at him, "HURRY UP!". "I AM DOING MY BEST," he says running, nearly falling over the pavement. I look away to make sure he doesn't see the smile on my face. He swiftly gets in the car, fastens his seatbelt then starts the engine. "ARE YOU GOING TO DRIVE OR NOT?" I scream, since it feels like he's taking his sweet time. "DON'T RUSH ME," his voice cracks?? "Are you okay?" I ask with a concerned look. "NO I AM NOT,YOU ARE SCARY WHEN YOU'RE ANGRY," he replies. There's a moment of silence before we burst into laughter.
"Just drive, you weirdo," I say, playfully punching him. "Yeah yeah," he replies with a smile. As he focuses on the road, I take time to analyse him. James has always been a good looking guy,but I never realised how good looking he really is.The best way to describe him, would probably be by saying he has an artsy look: he has a bit of facial hair, dark brown, curly locks and he always wears a scarf or beanie,no matter the weather. He's pretty tall, too. I always remember him placing things on the top shelf so that I couldn't reach it,resulting in me jumping up and down like a fool. I guess I just?
"We're here," he says as the car comes to a hault. "Oh," I reply as I unbuckle my seatbelt, "thanks for the ride." "No problem. Thanks for the breakfast," he smirks. I simply roll my eyes while closing the door.
As I enter the school gates,I hear a voice calling my name. "Lacey?Hey Lacey! Wait up!" I immediately recognise the voice. "Oh,hey Andrew," I say folding my arms, waiting for him to catch up. "I've been texting you,but you never replied?" he says curiously. "I?I've been a little busy," I respond bluntly. "Okay?" he says, brushing it off, "Natalie mentioned something about you wanting to ask me to a party?". Of course you did Natalie. "Oh yeah,um..I was wondering if you'd like to come to a party with Natalie and I?". "I'd love to!" he replies enthusiastically,"Whose party is it?". "James,my best friend,it's his welcome home part," I reply. He moves, looking uncomfortable, and a tad?should I say?jealous? "Is?that the guy who picks you up after school?" he asks, folding his arms. So he noticed? "Yeah, that's him," I reply smiling. "Hmm?alright, text me the details." He then walks away, without saying another word.
