As I enter the house,I hear my mom calling my name,"Lacey,is that you?". "Yeah mom,I just got home,"I say as I slip out of my shoes and put them by the door. "Remember to put your shoes?Oh,you already did," she says to me as she enters the room. She then approaches me,kisses my forehead, then hugs me. "Did you like the surprise?" she asks grinning, cupping my face." I can't believe you guys pulled it off. I didn't suspect a thing!" I say smiling. She then winks at me,and as she makes her way back to the kitchen, says,"I'm glad you liked it! Go freshen up,dinner's almost done.".
I make my way upstairs. I change out of my school uniform into some comfortable grey sweats. I put in my earphones and put the volume up. I start dancing, and since I can't really dance,I just end up looking akward. But that doesn't stop me from dancing to my heart's content. I end up spinning around, but as soon I turn,I see Andrew standing in the door.
"AHHHH." I stumble to the ground, completely shocked that Andrew Banks just watched me dancing. He,however, just bursts out laughing. "HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN STANDING THERE," I shout at him, mostly embarrassed. "How much of the this did you see?" I ask blushing. "Just enough," he says with a smirk,"very entertaining stuff.". He offers helping me up by holding out is hand, but I smack it away. I glare at him, "This just adds to my suspicion list," I say while standing up. "You have a suspicion list?" he asks amused. "Indeed. It's labelled as 'signs that someone is a stalker',"I answer. "Again with the stalker thing?" he crosses his arm. "Yes,you keep proving my point,"I answer while picking up my phone off the ground. I gesture at the chair behind him, giving him permission to sit down.
"Sorry for barging in,your mom gave me permission to come up," he says while sitting down. I take a seat on my bed. "It's okay,I just didn't expect you showing up here." "I just wanted to thank you for the other day," he says while fiddling with his fingers. "Oh yeah,no problem," I say smiling, "Sometimes you just need to vent, you know." He nods,"You give really good advice." "I know," I reply jokingly. There's a moment of silence,in which his eye catches a glimpse of my drawings. He picks them up and studies them intensively. "These are really good," he says while holding them up,"did you draw these?". "What, those? Those are just some sketches I made while I was in Bio class," I reply, "but thanks,I guess art class pays off after all," I say jokingly. "It's not just art class, you have a real talent. I mean look at me,I have art and I can't even draw a rock.If these are just doodles, then I could just imagine how great the real deal must be." I look down smiling, feeling flattered by his comment.
I hear my mom coming up the stairs, "Lacey,I called you a million times to tell you Andrew was here, but you didn't answer." "Sorry,I was occupied with something else," I apologise. "Oh well that's all right,at least he found you. I just came to tell you dinner is ready. Andrew, would you like to join us?"my mom asks. I glanse at him, awaiting his response. "Thank you for the offer,Mrs Jones, but unfortunately I have to get going,my parents are expecting me,"he then turns to me,giving me a soft smile," I'm?having dinner with my mom." I smile, surprised by his answer, then nod approvingly. "I'll walk you out," I say, grabbing my jacket.
He thanks my mom, then we make our way down the stairs. He opens the door, then turns to face me. "I'll see you at school?" he asks. "No,I'll be too busy robbing a bank," I jokingly comment. He then smiles at me,"Ha ha,good one," rolling his eyes. He then walks away, shaking his head. I go back inside, only to see my mom lean against the wall. "He's a cute one," she says winking at me. "Mom?" I say shyly, starting to blush. I make my way to the kitchen to set the table.
