EPILOGUE:
THE LEGACY
Six months later, Maya stood in her new studio - a renovated warehouse space with room for five apprentice artists. On the walls hung paintings from her ancestor, recovered from Sterling's private collection and returned to her family.
The bell chimed as the door opened. A young woman entered, her hands covered in charcoal smudges.
"Are you Maya Rodriguez?" she asked hesitantly. "The artist who can bring drawings to life?"
Maya's raven, perched on her shoulder, cawed softly.
"I'm Maya," she confirmed. "And you are?"
"Ella Chen. I'm a graphic novelist. My characters... they've started whispering to me at night." She held out her arms, showing faint outlines of figures that seemed to shift beneath her skin. "I think I need your help."
Maya smiled, recognizing another awakening talent. "Come in, Ella. I have quite a story to tell you."
Behind them, the sign on the door flipped from "CLOSED" to "OPEN" without anyone touching it.
The butterfly tattooed on Maya's ankle fluttered its wings in anticipation of midnight.
Another creator had found her way home.
