Scene: Tuesday Morning - The Inbox Bombshell
The morning sun filtered through the blinds, casting lines across my laptop screen. I was sipping black coffee when the notification popped up: a new email from an anonymous sender. The subject line read:
"You're Being Watched."
My heart skipped.
I clicked it open.
Inside were photos - candid shots of me and Elias, taken during our after-hours moments. Shots from the cabin trip, the office stairwell kiss, even last week's gala. Attached was a chilling message:
"Keep playing your games, but remember: secrets don't stay buried forever."
Scene: The Silent Alarm
I immediately called Elias. His tone turned cold, eyes hardening when I read the email aloud.
"We need to find who's behind this - and fast."
We agreed to keep it quiet for now - the last thing either of us wanted was more gossip or a company-wide scandal.
Scene: Devon's Shadow
Despite his dismissal, Devon's presence lingered like a dark cloud. Could this be his doing? Revenge from the sidelines? Or was someone else playing?
Elias was silent on the ride to work, eyes scanning every familiar face, every shadow.

By afternoon, I received a text from Nyla.
"I'm digging too. Meet me after hours. We're closer to the truth than you think."
Her unexpected message was a lifeline.
Scene: Late Night Conspiracy
That evening, the two of us met in a dim café - the one with the flickering neon sign and whispered secrets.
Nyla slid a folder across the table.
"This isn't just a vendetta. Someone high up is watching you both. Someone with power."
I frowned.
"Who?"
She looked me dead in the eye.
"Someone who doesn't want this office to change - and will do anything to keep control."
