PART 19 - "Bikinis, Betrayals & the Bachelorette Blow-Up"
Scene: Welcome to the Wild
The private jet touched down in Nassau with a roar of excitement and the clinking of champagne glasses. Ten of us, dripping in melanin, diamonds, and main character energy, stepped out like a walking Savage Fenty campaign.
The villa?
A marble fortress with an infinity pool, ocean view, and staff that bowed when we walked in.
I wore a custom white one-piece with rhinestones across the hips that spelled "BRIDE." My girls matched in rose-gold bikinis with sheer wraps blowing in the breeze.
This was supposed to be the dream.
But every dream has a snake in the sand.
Scene: Who Brought the Problem?
By nightfall, the hookah was hot, the rum was flowing, and the villa was bumping with Afrobeat and slow grind playlists.
Then the uninvited guest walked in.
Amari.
Not a bridesmaid. Not a friend.
Just a tall, brown-skinned ex situationship of Devon's - and apparently "a close friend" of Kennedi, one of my bridesmaids.
The music scratched like a broken record.
I stood, eyes narrowed.
"You lost, baby?"
She smiled like poison. "Just here to celebrate love."
Kennedi looked pale under her bronzer.
"I didn't think it would be a big deal…"
Scene: The Slippery Secrets
Over the next day, Amari was everywhere.
On the jet skis.
By the pool.
And whispering to Sasha - another bridesmaid I was already suspicious of.
By sunset, while I was on FaceTime with Nova and Devon, Amari strutted by, sipping wine and mouthing, "Does he still do that tongue thing?"
I. Almost. Blacked. Out.
But I didn't scream.
I smiled.
Because revenge is best served cold - and at the bonfire.
Scene: The Truth Gets Burned
That night, we circled the beachside firepit. Everyone had to drop a slip of paper in the flames - something they wanted to "let go before marriage."
It was cute.
Until mine read:
"He still calls me when you fall asleep."
I stood, firelight dancing on my skin, voice a whip.
"Who wrote this?"
Silence.
Then Sasha laughed.
"Well, if the ring fits - "
Before I could move, Nia lunged across the sand and snatched her braid.
Drinks spilled.
Chairs flew.
It took two staff members and a half-dressed bartender to separate us.
Scene: The Showdown
I finally got Sasha alone in the wine cellar.
"You wanted him?" I asked, quiet.
She tilted her head. "I had him."
I stepped closer, fearless.
"And you lost him. To me. You'll never be me, never walk in these heels, and never carry his child. So sip your wine and watch my wedding from a screen. If you're lucky."
Scene: Redemption & Reboot
The next morning, Amari and Sasha were gone.
Kennedi apologized in tears - and left early, too.
I kept my circle tight.
Real tight.
And my last night in Nassau?
Devon flew in.
Private beach.
Candlelight.
A massage that turned into more.
He whispered against my skin, "I don't care who they are. You're the only one who gets all of me."
