A House Divided
While I fought in school, my home turned against me. My parents decided my brother should travel overseas, believing he'd make money for the family. But I knew him well... selfish, consumed by his own desires. I spoke against the plan, not out of envy but truth.
That decision turned everything. My mother, once my safe place, now saw me as a threat. She accused me of jealousy, twisting my concern into bitterness. She called me names that cut deep, until one day she looked at me and called me a witch.
My brother, poisoned by her words, turned on me too. The boy who once clung to me now despised me. Even my little sister grew distant. My father remained silent, his double-sided nature leaving me unprotected. Home became a prison. Every glance, every word reminded me I was unloved, unwanted, and alone.
