Delaney's Pov:
****He said forever, and I believed him. That was my terrible mistake***
I’m Delaney, 28, a working woman chasing a dream. Since finishing my master's degree program, I’ve thrown every ounce of energy into my work, determined to lead my firm someday. I tell myself I have what it takes to become the first female project manager of the NextGenFoundation (NGF). I just need that one chance, and some valuable support from the ladies in this NGO firm.
If only the ladies in this firm would genuinely support me, I know I could grab that presidency seat effortlessly. With that platform, I’d finally shape the workshops we run in schools across the country. Right now, it feels like those programs favor boys, boxing girls into smaller roles.
But, let's face the truth, I won't be winning that seat come next election. why? because the ladies don’t want to work together, and they'll rather watch male colleagues take that seat each tenure than to rise up and vote for me, their own gender . that's how jealous and petty ladies can be, How unreasonable!.

As I sat through the conference, I can’t still get his words out of my head. I don’t usually fall for sweet talk, but there was something different about that young man from the Port Harcourt zone. The way he looked at me this morning in the cafeteria, so sincere, so genuine, caught me off guard. I’m counting the minutes until the program ends, just so I can speak with him again.
Then, when Professor Mmadu N.O takes the stage, I glance toward the men’s section, far right, and meet his eyes. He grins playfully, sticks out his tongue, and pulls his eyelids up, the universal sign for boredom. I can’t help but smile.
“Something wrong with your head, George?” the professor jokes, noticing his antics.
George straightens up, cool as ever, and the workshop had continued.

It’s Monday, April 25th my wedding day! The day I’ve dreamed about like forever. I’m finally marrying him, George, the first man I ever loved.
Honestly, I can’t picture being with anyone else. It has to be George. Did you think I’d marry someone else? No way.
We met at that Empowerment workshop, remember? That’s where the spark began a romance I never expected. George was such a charmer, always knowing just what to say, with that smile that could light up any room.
He’s the one who cheers me up when I’m down, and I think... I really love him.
And guess what? Our one unforgettable night together has made me pregnant. Yes, I’m carrying his child! No regrets at all. Sure, my career plans will have to wait a bit, but George promises to take care of me and the baby. So don’t blame me I just fell in love
