"We can't stay here forever," Raven murmured, her fingers tracing circles on Ryle's chest.
His hold on her tightened slightly. "Who says we have to?"
She tilted her head up to meet his gaze, eyes searching his for something - hesitation, doubt. She found none.
"Do you mean it?" she asked, voice quiet but urgent. "We could leave. Just us. No world, no consequences - just us."
Ryle exhaled slowly, then reached for her hand, bringing it to his lips. "I mean it, Raven. If this - " he gestured around the dimly lit room, their cocoon of stolen moments, " - is all we have, then let's take it somewhere else. Somewhere we don't have to pretend."
Her pulse thrummed at his words. She had dreamed of escape before, but never with him. Never with certainty. Never with love.
"Then let's go," she whispered, pressing her lips to his knuckles.
He grinned. "Where to, troublemaker?"
She smirked. "Anywhere the world can't find us."
The beach stretched endlessly before them, golden under the late afternoon sun. The wind carried the scent of salt and possibility, and Raven breathed it in, letting the moment settle into her bones.
"This is it," she said, turning to Ryle, the wind catching in her hair. "No turning back now."
"Are you scared?" he asked, stepping closer, his fingers brushing against hers.
She laughed softly. "Not if you're with me."
Ryle smirked, tugging her hand toward the water. "Race you."
Raven yelped as he took off, his laughter carried by the wind. She chased after him, feet kicking up sand, heart pounding with something bigger than adrenaline - something more like love.
He reached the shore first, turning just in time for her to crash into him. Arms wrapped around her, their bodies pressed close, breath mixing in the space between them.
"You cheated," she accused, breathless.
"You let me," he countered, his grin devilish.
Her laughter faded as his thumb brushed over her lips, the teasing replaced with something deeper.
"I love you," he murmured, the words slipping out like a confession, like a truth too big to hold in.
Raven let her fingers trail down his jaw, savoring the way his pulse quickened under her touch. "I love you more."
His mouth met hers, slow and intoxicating, as the waves crashed around them, as the sun dipped lower in the sky. In this world - this universe built on nothing but love - they were free.
And nothing else mattered.
