As Henjunaha's hope threatened to shatter, the elder spoke of a legend - a tale so old most dismissed it as a myth for children.
"They say a flower grows in the high hills where the spirits dwell," the elder murmured, his gaze drifting toward the forbidding mountains. "The Uthum.* Its nectar can restore life where life is fading. But the path is guarded. The Umang Lai - the forest spirits - do not take kindly to mortals. They will test your heart, not your strength."
Without a second thought, Henjunaha prepared to leave. He kissed his wife's fevered brow. "I will return," he vowed, his voice thick with emotion. "I will bring back the dawn for you."
With nothing but a knife, a rope, and a heart full of desperate love, he set out toward the unknown.
