New Horizon
Even now, life is not perfect. There are still late nights closing spreadsheets at the dealership and tired mornings in the cabinet shop - anxiety still knocks at times - but when I sit on the porch in the evening with my sketchbook in hand and my children at my side, everything feels right. My daughter points to a star and asks if mermaids sleep there; I smile and draw her a mermaid dreaming under the moon. My son leans against me humming the ocean song I taught him. In these moments, I realize that the future is built out of moments like these - here, right now.
I've finally turned the tide of my life. By painting each day with color and purpose, I show my children that we can keep sailing toward our dreams, even if the course bends. Dreams can evolve, but they never truly die - they just change shape, like reefs growing in the currents. And maybe that's the greatest lesson of all: it's better to live fully in each moment than to put life on hold for a future that might never come. As the sun sets over our small-town harbor, I lean back and know that this new horizon is ours to steer, together.
