Chapter 2

Elliot gripped the glowing blue book tightly, his heart pounding as he stood in the middle of a bustling cobblestone street. He had traveled back in time, and now, he had no idea how to return home.

The people around him barely noticed his modern clothes. Horse-drawn carriages rolled past, merchants shouted about fresh bread and silk, and a large clock tower loomed over the square, ticking steadily.

Elliot flipped open the book, hoping for an answer. The pages shimmered, revealing new text:

"To return, find the Keeper of Time. But beware - he does not grant favors lightly."

Elliot swallowed hard. The Keeper of Time? Who - or what - was that?

Suddenly, a shadow fell over him. He looked up and gasped. A tall man wearing a deep blue velvet cloak stood before him. His piercing golden eyes glowed softly, just like the words on the book.

"You shouldn't be here," the man said, his voice like rolling thunder.

"I need to get back home," Elliot blurted out.

The man sighed. "You hold the Book of Time, but do you truly understand its power? You cannot simply 'go home.' Time must be repaid."

Elliot's stomach twisted. Repayed? How?

The man reached into his cloak and pulled out a small golden hourglass.

"To return, you must rewrite history. Correct one mistake - an event that should have gone differently."

Elliot's mind raced. Could he change history? And if he did, would it change his own future?

The Keeper of Time turned away, his cloak swirling behind him. "Choose wisely, Elliot. Once you turn back time, there is no undoing it."

The blue book glowed brightly, flipping its own pages. Suddenly, words formed before his eyes:

"You have three choices:"

Prevent a great war before it ever begins.

Save a forgotten hero who was lost to history.

Protect an ancient treasure from vanishing forever.

Elliot took a deep breath. The golden hourglass shimmered in the Keeper's hand. Time was running out.
