**Chapter 17: The Unexpected Twist**
Just as they thought they had won, Dave suddenly smirked.
"You may have caught me, but you'll never stop the real mastermind behind this plan."
Eleanor raised an eyebrow. "What are you talking about, Dave?"
Dave leaned forward, a sly grin spreading across his face.
"There's someone above me, pulling the strings. And you'll never guess who it is..."
Jenny's eyes narrowed. "Try us, Dave. We're not afraid of your empty threats."
Dave chuckled. "We'll see about that. Let's just say... it's someone very close to you, Eleanor."
Eleanor's eyes widened in shock. "What?! That's impossible!"
Dave leaned back in his chair, a smug expression on his face.
"Your boss, Mr. Johnson, is the one who's been pulling the strings all along."
The team gasped in shock, except for Eleanor, who looked stunned.
"That's impossible... Mr. Johnson is a kind and fair boss!"
Dave laughed. "That's what he wants you to think. But he's been using me to test your team's abilities. He wants to know if you're worthy of his trust."
Jenny's eyes narrowed. "Why would he do that?"
Dave shrugged. "I don't know, but I do know that he's been watching your every move. And he's not happy with what he's seen."
Suddenly, the door swung open and Mr. Johnson walked in, a stern expression on his face.
Mr. Johnson's eyes scanned the room, his gaze lingering on each team member before finally settling on Eleanor.
"So, you've discovered my little secret," he said, his voice low and menacing.
Eleanor stepped forward, her heart pounding in her chest.
"Why, Mr. Johnson? Why would you do this to us?"
Mr. Johnson sneered.
"Because you're all so predictable. So boring. I wanted to see if you had what it takes to be truly great."
Jenny's eyes blazed with anger.
"And what makes you think you have the right to decide that?"
Mr. Johnson shrugged.
"I'm the boss. I can do whatever I want."
Max took a step forward, his fists clenched.
"Not if we have anything to say about it, you're not."
