When Leo opened his eyes, he was no longer in his grandfather's study.
He was flat on his back… in a trench.
Explosions thundered nearby. Men in uniforms rushed past. Someone screamed, "The Germans are coming!"
Leo sat up, dazed, covered in mud and what might've been mashed peas.
"Did I just land in… Call of Duty?"
Nope. This wasn't a game.
A soldier grabbed him by the collar.
"You there! What's your regiment?"
"Uh… Tesco?" Leo replied, wide-eyed.
Minutes later, he was tossed a helmet, handed a tin of beans, and assumed to be a confused rookie. Somehow, everyone believed he was Private Leo Wilson (close enough), a young British soldier who'd apparently gotten "blown off course."
The year? 1942. Welcome to World War II.
