One day sarita left kittu in the balcony with some bread and water,left a window open and covered the window with thin duppata thinking that it would be safe and went out with her mother to get groceries.

As they were returning to their house sarita heard familiar mewing of kittu and looked around her to see where the mewing was coming from,she looked up and saw that kittu was stuck on a shed trembling from fear of falling from the shed and calling out for help.

As soon as sarita's mother saw kittu stuck on the shed ,she looked angrily at sarita and said," if anything happens to kittu ,I won't spare you". Trembling with fear of facing her mother's wrath and the thought of any mishap happening to kittu ,sarita and her mother reached home.

They then went to their balcony and started to try to get kittu to jump on the balcony,but kittu couldn't jump as she was just a kitten and couldn't jump so high, sarita's mother then brought a clothes basket,tied a rope to it and lowered it on the shed trying to get kittu in the basket so they can pull her up.

Kittu smelled the basket and understanding their intentions climbed in the basket when she felt it was safe. As soon as kittu got out on the balcony,sarita ran out and hid on the roof in fear of her mother.

She didn't dare go back as she thought her mother would beat her for locking kittu in the balcony with an open window. After a while her mother called out to her and promised not to beat her, only then did sarita go back.
