It had been three days since I last saw Emeraude. Her green fox-like eyes and the devilish look she gave me still stuck with me. It was like I was a rat trapped in a raven's claw as I stared at the dress and the matching jewelry set. Stop thinking about her! I mentally screamed at myself as I gently slapped my cheeks.
I mean fuck focusing at this point, she was the only thing on my mind. Three agonizing days finally go by and yet, no note. It had been three days and not a word from her. I bet she's enjoying watching me squirm, I thought, sighing as I went out to check for any mail.
Inside was a letter assigned to "Esmeralda" which made my heart jump in my chest as I scrambled to gently open the emerald green envelope. Inside was an emerald green handkerchief with an E embroidered on the corner in silver thread. Finally, I thought with a stupid smile, my face heating up as I took another look inside the envelope to find a letter.
My Dear Esmeralda,
It has been three days since I last saw you, yet I can not get you out of my mind. I desperately need to see you again and long for your touch. I pray that you feel the same way. I feel I love you so much that I would give my everything for you. If you feel the same, please meet me at the Emerald Cafe at 3pm sharp tomorrow.
Signed with love,
Emeraude
I only giggled happily to myself as I saw her lipstick stain on the bottom of the letter. I then smiled as I gently refolded the letter and placed it back in the envelope with the handkerchief where it belonged. I then went to class with a lovesick grin on my face and was in an unusually good mood due to this small date invitation. I was excited to see Emeraude, this happy, floaty feeling rising in my chest as I smiled.
Emeraude had me wrapped around her finger, and she probably enjoyed it. The day went by in a blur as I happily stood up to waddle off to my room to do my nightly routine since I had no classes tomorrow. When morning came around, I smiled, setting out a champagne colored dress with a square neck and bishop sleeves. This flowed down into an A-line skirt that came to my shins as well as placing out an emerald green corset to put on top of the dress.
I set out the jewelry set that Emeraude got me along with Victorian boots to wear with the dress. I then set out the final piece of the outfit, which was a petticoat. When 2:30 rolled around I started to get ready with a smile on my face, putting my hair up in a halo braid before I grabbed a handbag, placed my necessities in it, and left shortly after.
It was around 2:50 when I left as I walked to the Emerald Cafe. It was in an old Victorian home, the color of emeralds. The flowers that surrounded the house were things like green hellebore and ivy lined the walls. I smiled as I went up to the door, which had a sign that said 'The Emerald Cafe'. Under the sign for the shop, there was a sign that said open, and I opened the door, stepping inside once I read it.
It was a beautiful cafe that was based on the Victorian era as I went up to the front desk. "Hello, I'm supposed to be here to meet a woman by the name of Emeraude" I say, the woman only smiled and led me to a table upstairs where that same woman from the ball sat. As soon as she noticed me, her face lit up, and she pulled out a chair for me. "I'm so happy you actually made it!" the woman said with a smile as she then ordered an iced chai latte and a matcha cupcake, and I ordered a matcha cupcake as well as a matcha latte.
"I see you also like matcha" she says with an awkward smile, making me laugh lightly. "Yes I do, what happened to your confident demeanor~" I teased with a grin. "Well, my dear the mask makes me a whole different person" she teased back with a grin making me giggle as I played with her hand "you can say that again" I joked before our orders came. I then had a feeling this would happen more often.
