Ch40 The Final Battle

Chapter Forty: The Final Battle

The night air was thick with tension as the Wild Hunt closed in. Seraphine stood at the forefront of their camp, her heart pounding in her chest, the magic around her humming with raw power. The moon was high above, a silver sentinel in the sky, casting long shadows across the field.

Azrael and Kairos stood beside her, their presence a constant, grounding force. Together, they were a unit, a single force standing against the chaos that was about to unfold. The Wild Hunt was no longer just a myth - they were real, and they had come to claim what they believed was theirs.

But Seraphine would not let them. Not after everything they had fought for.

The air around them shifted, and Seraphine's senses flared to life. She felt it - the pull of the Wild Hunt's magic as they entered the battle space. The thundering hooves, the eerie howls of the hunt, the crackling energy in the air - it was all a warning.

"They're here," Kairos growled low, his muscles tense as he gripped his weapon. His eyes were sharp, the wolf in him awakening as the tension mounted.

Azrael stood with quiet resolve, his dark energy swirling around him like a protective cloak. "This ends tonight."

Seraphine turned to face them, her heart racing. "We stand together, and we fight together. No one falls. Not tonight."

Their eyes locked - there was no hesitation. The bond between them had been solidified, and it was that bond that would carry them through the fight. Together, they were unstoppable.

And then, the Wild Hunt appeared.

They materialized out of the shadows - dark figures on horseback, cloaked in black with eyes glowing like embers in the night. The Huntsman led them, his shifting form a blur of darkness and light. His cold, piercing eyes met Seraphine's, and his twisted smile spread across his face.

"You think you can stop us?" His voice was like ice, cutting through the air.

"We're not stopping you," Seraphine said, her voice unwavering. "We're ending this."

With a signal from the Huntsman, the Wild Hunt surged forward, a wall of magic and violence. Seraphine reacted in an instant, her hand raising to unleash a surge of power that sent the first wave of attackers flying back. The ground beneath her feet trembled as the energy crackled from her body, but she didn't stop. She couldn't. Not now.

Azrael and Kairos moved with her, their presence a seamless extension of her own power. Azrael struck with dark energy, his power seeping into the earth as he summoned bolts of shadow to strike down the Hunt. Kairos moved with the grace and strength of a predator, taking down enemies with raw physical power and ferocity. His claws were bared, his eyes glowing as he fought, embodying the wolf inside him with every strike.

The Wild Hunt was relentless. They came at them from every angle, shifting between realms with their signature eerie speed, but the trio fought with a unity that was unshakable. Seraphine felt her magic surge, each movement of her hands sending waves of energy that tore through the enemy. Azrael's shadow magic intertwined with hers, amplifying their strength. Kairos was the anchor, keeping them grounded, his strength unparalleled.

But even as they fought back wave after wave, Seraphine knew the Huntsman was still out there. She could feel his presence, a dark shadow moving through the chaos, waiting for the right moment.

She wasn't about to let that moment come.

With a cry of fury, she pushed forward, her hand outstretched as she sent a surge of magic toward the Huntsman. The ground shook as the energy erupted around her, but the Huntsman was faster. He vanished into the shadows, reappearing behind her with a speed that took her by surprise. His hand shot out, and for a moment, it felt like the air around her had frozen.

Before she could react, Azrael was there. He intercepted the Huntsman, his dark power colliding with the fey's own. The force of the impact sent shockwaves through the battlefield. But Seraphine knew it wasn't over. Not yet.

The Huntsman's form twisted and writhed, flickering like a shadow in the night. His voice was a low growl, full of fury and disdain. "You think you can defeat me? You think you can defeat us?"

Seraphine stood tall, her eyes narrowing as she faced the Huntsman. "We're not just fighting for ourselves," she said, her voice unwavering. "We're fighting for everyone. And we'll win."

She reached out, her magic reaching toward Azrael and Kairos, drawing on their bond, their power. In that moment, they were one - completely connected, their magic working in perfect harmony. Together, they summoned their power, creating a barrier that pushed back the Wild Hunt, the magic crackling as it enveloped the Huntsman.

With a roar of fury, the Huntsman charged, but Seraphine was ready. She met him head-on, her hand raised to the sky as she unleashed the full force of their combined magic. The power of her bond with Azrael and Kairos ignited, and the world seemed to explode with light.

In that instant, everything shifted.

The Wild Hunt faltered, their figures flickering in and out of existence as Seraphine's magic surged. The Huntsman let out a final, desperate cry as the power she wielded overpowered him, the light of her bond shining brighter than anything the Wild Hunt could summon.

And then, with one final burst of energy, the Huntsman was gone.
