The Revelation
As the days turned into months, I and Victor's relationship perpetuate into blossom. We spent every spare moment together, exploring the Paris and creating some memories together. I never felt this way before. I could be myself around Victor, without being judged, manipulate and neglected. And Victor fell the same.
One evening, as we sat on the bleach, watching the sunset, Victor turned to me with a serious look on his face.
"I have something important to tell you, Caz."
"What is it?"
My heart skipped a beat as I wondered what Victor was going to say. This is the first time; he looks into me in a serious mode. Victor took a deep breath before speaking.
"I have a daughter," he said while his eyes locked on me. "Her name is Aichi, and she's 7 years old."
My eyes widened in surprise after hearing Victor said. I didn't expect this revelation but I looked into Victor's eyes, and saw the love and adoration he had for his daughter and I couldn't blame him.
"I had no idea," I said with a soft voice. "What's Aichi like?"
Victor's face lit up with a smile. "She's amazing, smart, funny and beautiful and I'm so proud of her" he said.
My heart melt as I listened to Victor talk about his daughter. I could see the love he had for his daughter is genuine. And it only made to me to love him more. And I knew that I was ready to meet his daughter, Aichi and love her.
The next day, Victor took me to meet his daughter. We arrived at Victor's apartment, and even outside I could hear the sound of laughter and music coming from inside of his apartment. As we entered, Aichi ran to Victor, throwing he arms around his waist. "Papa!" she said with her eyes full of excitement.
Victor hugged Aichi tightly, lifting her off the ground. I felt like my heart melting the way they interact together. I could see the bond between them. While watching them, Aichi tuned to me and smiled. "Bonjour," she said and he eyes sparking with curiosity.
I smiled back, kneeling down and replied "Bonjour, Aichi. It's lovely to meet you."
"Papa says you're his friend."
I nodded and smiling. "Yes, that's right. I'm very happy to be Papa's friend."
As we spent the day together, I found myself forming a bond with them. We laughed, played and explored the city together and I found myself a sense of belonging. As the sun began to set, Victor turned to me and took my hand.
"I'm so glad you're here and thank you for accepting me" he said while his voice filled with emotion.
I smiled and said "I feel like I've finally found my place."
He leaned in and kiss me. "You are home and you are exactly where you are meant to be."
