Three days had passed since the collapse of Eclipse.
New York was beginning to breathe again.
Television stations called it the largest criminal operation ever uncovered in the city's history. Authorities recovered millions of dollars in assets, encrypted servers, weapons, and records linking powerful criminals across the world.
But one question remained unanswered.
Where was Adrian Volkov?
No body had been found.
Emily stood at the window of her hospital room, her shoulder healing well.
The door opened quietly.
Victoria stepped inside, carrying two cups of coffee.
"I bribed the nurse."
Emily laughed.
"With money?"
Victoria smiled.
"With expensive pastries."
"That sounds more like you."
Victoria handed her a cup before sitting beside the bed.
For a while, neither of them spoke.
They simply enjoyed the rare feeling of peace.
Emily finally broke the silence.
"When this is over..."
Victoria smiled.
"You still want that little house?"
Emily nodded.
"And the dog."
Victoria laughed softly.
"I've already been looking."
"You've what?"
"I found a place outside the city."
Emily stared at her.
"You were serious."
"I've never been more serious about anything."
Emily reached across the bed and took Victoria's hand.
"I love you."
Victoria's eyes widened.
For a moment, words failed her.
Then a smile spread across her face.
"I was wondering how long it would take you to say it."
Emily laughed nervously.
"So..."
"That's not an answer."
Victoria leaned forward and kissed her gently.
When they parted, she rested her forehead against Emily's.
"I love you too."
The words were quiet.
But they carried more weight than any promise either of them had ever made.
Later that afternoon, Walker entered the room carrying a thick folder.
"I hate interrupting moments like this."
Emily smiled.
"You've made a habit of it."
Walker placed the folder on the table.
"The government has officially dismantled the Black Vipers."
Gabriel, Father Michael and Luca entered behind him.
For the first time, they looked like a family rather than survivors.
Gabriel smiled at his sister.
"I've been offered witness protection."
Victoria nodded.
"You should take it."
"And you?"
"I'm staying."
Walker looked at Victoria.
"The charges against you are... complicated."
Emily frowned.
"What does that mean?"
Walker opened the folder.
"Because of your cooperation, the evidence you provided, and the lives you saved..."
"...the Department of Justice is considering a full immunity agreement."
Victoria couldn't believe what she was hearing.
"You mean..."
Walker smiled.
"You might finally get a chance to start over."
That evening, the group gathered on the rooftop of FBI Headquarters.
The sun slowly disappeared behind the Manhattan skyline.
Father Michael quietly raised a glass.
"To second chances."
"To family."
"And to those who never stopped believing."
Everyone raised their glasses.
Even Victoria.
She looked at Emily.
"This feels strange."
Emily smiled.
"What does?"
"Being happy."
Emily gently slipped her fingers between Victoria's.
"Get used to it."
Victoria laughed.
"I think I'd like to."
Far out on the Atlantic Ocean...
A fishing boat drifted through heavy fog.
The hooded man removed his gloves.
The scar on his left hand was unmistakable.
Adrian Volkov.
He unfolded an old map.
One location had been circled in red.
Lisbon.
He looked back toward the distant American coastline.
"I lost my empire..."
He quietly closed the map.
"...but the game isn't over."
The boat disappeared into the mist.
Unseen.
Untracked.
Waiting.
The war in New York was over.
But somewhere across the ocean...
A new chapter had already begun.
