"Okay class, you've been doing great on this project we've been working on.
Today, we will be working on a short 3 page packet. It consists of a story, and essay response.
Afterwards, we will go over the packet, and discuss them.
If everyone finishes before the bell, you may continue to work on your great paper weaving projects".
"I am available for any questions, about the worksheets at the desk."
At the desk, a semi-organized palate waits. A calendar rest In the mid, reaching near the seat to sit. The near empty untensil holder with pens, seems to be almost all used.
Random sheets of completed work, and teacher instructionals from a book, make its way to complete the rest of the desk.
Then two sections of the front of the desk, lying center of. Two pupil desks held together, and 2 piles of multicolor construction paper sheets.
In the awe, of the back of consciousness, the thought remains- no its not the best set-up, nor plans but certainly, this will keep the kids busy in time.
This weaving project has got to be the most genius thing ever.
When one thing never truly has to end, it just can keep getting better, and better.
We can do this forever.
[Despite these ideas]
No word from the teacher yet. But, it seems like this had to be a sudden extravagance. It doesn't seem like a planned leave at all. It's been just about 2 weeks so far. Hopefully it's not bad. But, with no plans or help, I can't even imagine what could be going on.
While the kids work on their tasks, it's the perfect time to get a quick scroll through the phone.
Taking a seat *Suddenly - the urge to...
No...I've been doing so well. I won't go do it.
Steadily the phone is instead placed back down onto the desk
Come on. Get ahold of it. It's time to move forward, and move along.
Stumbling upon a blank sheet of paper, and half inked pen - to jot down a new week's sub plan.
[Thoughts come as she writes]
Subbing daily hasn't been a walk in the park, but it's certainly helped financially, getting through school and all. A steady income, decent schedule - providing with more possibilities. College definitely was a stepping stone... but I know its lots more to it than taking college courses, and passing. It takes alot more sacrifice, and independence, than willing to.
Unsure of the pursuit in path, but the funny feeling that comes getting to me is what's keeping me from quitting.
After 6 long years, full of mishaps, failing, and comebacks, of college. What, was gained was a great deal of experience, and wisdom. The drive to tackle something new, in the present tense was all she knew as a way to success.
An in-between crossroad of fulfilling the need to succeed, or completing a path almost done.
Knowing the past fall, and winter, however, the hit gave somewhat of a hard second thought.
Signing up for nursing school is "the choice" but flunking out just seems to be in my cards. I know I've got to be more steady, focused and committed in order to pass the class, but damn. From trying to figure out the study structure, finding time to at least dream..., and then the vibes from the other students ...always seemed to give like I didn't belong or wasn't cool... never have I felt like such a fool.
The experience took a lot to prosper from, but this is what happens when determination is stronger than a will.
[Sitting up from the seat, and walking around the classroom - to manipulate, teacher stuff; avoiding a standstill, and trying to tidy up anything that doesn't involve sweeping up dust, or scraping the rust from the windows steel. It's all about expo solution, tracking down pens, and desk wipes made out of water and lemon peel. Being in this classroom, it's no doubt of my being unfulfilled.
