You Are Not Wrong
Let me be absolutely clear about something, and I want you to read these words slowly, let them sink into your bones, tattoo them on your heart if you need to:
You are not wrong.
Whatever you're feeling right now—confusion, fear, hope, longing, anger, relief—it's valid. Your feelings are valid. Your existence is valid. The way your heart beats when you see that person, the way your stomach flips when they walk into a room, the way you lie awake at night wondering if you're broken: none of that is wrong.
Sexual orientation is no different than the color of your skin, the shape of your eyes, the sound of your laughter. It is woven into the fabric of who you are, written into your genetic code, stamped onto your soul by the same hands that formed the mountains and the oceans. It is not a phase. It is not a choice. It is not a rebellion or a trend or a mistake.
It is you.
And you should never, ever have to hide it. You should never have to make yourself smaller, quieter, straighter, more "appropriate" to make someone else comfortable. You should never have to edit your pronouns, censor your stories, or leave your partner's hand unheld because someone else might disapprove. The people who love you should love all of you, not a curated version, not a palatable version, not a version that fits their expectations.
If they can't handle your truth, that is their deficiency, not yours.
For those of you who believe in God—or a higher power, or universal energy, or simply the miracle of existence—listen closely: The same divine force that created heterosexual people created you. The same breath that filled the lungs of straight children filled yours. You were not an afterthought, not a glitch in the system, not a test for others to pass or fail. You were intentional. You were wanted. You were designed with the same care and love as every other human being who has ever walked this earth.
If anyone tries to tell you that God hates you, that your existence is sinful, that you need to be "cured" or "fixed" or prayed into compliance, understand that they are speaking from fear, not from truth. They are protecting their own limitations, not honoring divine wisdom. God is bigger than their narrow interpretations. Love is bigger than their rules. If you doubt this truth, then read the creation story...you cannot think of yourself as a mistake if you also read and believe that GOD created ALL things. So, if you believe, then believe that you are also GOD's creation. If you believe that GOD doesn't make mistakes, then you also must believe that you are NOT a mistake.
You are diversity in action. You are the living, breathing proof that love is not a single shape, not one size fits all, not a copy-paste template that everyone must follow. You are here to teach the world, yes, even the straight world, that love is vast, infinite, creative, and wild. You are here to show them that family can look like two dads, or two moms, or no parents at all, or chosen family bound by love instead of blood. You are here to demonstrate that joy is not diminished when shared between people of the same gender, that it is, in fact, multiplied.
Every time you live openly, every time you refuse to be ashamed, every time you correct someone's assumptions or hold your partner's hand in public or simply exist in your truth, you are teaching. You are expanding the definition of what it means to be human. You are carving out space for the next confused kid who thinks they're alone. You are proving that love, real, authentic, messy, beautiful love, is the most powerful force in the universe, and it doesn't check ID at the door.
You are fine exactly as you are. Perfect, in fact. Not despite your queerness, but because of it. It is not a flaw to overcome; it is a feature to celebrate. It gives you a perspective, a depth of empathy, a capacity for love that the world desperately needs.
Don't let anyone convince you that you need to change. Don't let anyone tell you that you're "too much" or "not enough" or "just confused." Don't let anyone, including yourself, shame you into a closet, a lie, a life that feels like wearing clothes that don't fit.
You are the real thing. You are the genuine article. You are exactly who you are supposed to be.
And if you ever forget that, if the voices of doubt get too loud, if the world feels too heavy, come back to this page. Read these words again. Let me be the voice that reminds you when you can't remind yourself:
You are loved. You are worthy. You are not wrong.
Now go out there and live like it.

The world is wide, wide enough for all of us. There is room here for every kind of love. Make space. Take space. Be brave.
