Buried Alive
Thomas backed away as the villagers formed a tight circle around the pit. The old woman lifted the mirror from the grave and held it up. This time, he noticed something terrifying: the reflections inside weren't just his own or the people he saw earlier they were twisted now , monstrous versions of something, clawing and screaming silently.
"The ground keeps it contained," the old woman whispered. "Everything we bury, everything we silence… it's to keep it from rising."
The villagers dragged Thomas toward the pit. Panic surged through him, but he realized they weren't trying to kill him. They were trying to protect the village.
As he was forced toward the open grave, he saw shadows moving beneath the soil, massive and inhuman, with glowing eyes. The thing inside the earth pounded at the lid, desperate to escape.
