Held by yesterday

Elara had always believed in forever. Love had wrapped itself around her heart like a warm embrace, and for a time, she had felt untouchable. But forever had unraveled, leaving her with only memories and regrets. The pain of losing Mark had become a part of her, like a shadow that never left, and she carried it with her into every new day, every new relationship. Now, standing on the precipice of something new with Liam, she found herself haunted by the past. Could she truly love again? Or was she destined to remain trapped in yesterday’s love story?

Chapter 5-Epilogue

The photograph of Mark went into the trash. The bracelet, too. She started therapy, confronting the grief she had buried beneath nostalgia. It was hard. Healing always is. But as the days passed, the weight on her chest began to lift, little by little.

One day, she returned to the cafe and found herself smiling - not at a memory, but at the present moment. The sea was still beautiful. The coffee still warm. And for the first time in a long time, she felt a glimmer of something new;hope.

Time had softened the edges of her pain, though it had not erased them. Elara had learned that healing wasn't about forgetting but about making peace with the past. Standing at the shore, she let the wind carry away her final whisper to the love she had lost.

She was ready.

And somewhere in the world, she hoped Liam had found the love he truly deserved.
