It was the beginning of the year 2000, and I was weary of being sick and tired. I didn’t have a clue as to why I felt that way. I was in church, but I was still not content. I had a decent job and was not happy. I was hanging out at the motorcycle club with my auntie, and I had to have emergency surgery. That is when reality struck. My stomach had staples in it from surgery, and when I was released from the hospital, they hurt something terrible. I cried out to Jesus to take the pain away, but that is not it. "It was time to tell the truth, and that was that I was a heathen and had nerves begging him to take away the pain. I said to Him that I am a heathen and was going to church but was playing. I was still partying and drinking as if I were a changed woman. for the better, not the worst. Then I said to the Lord who I really was. "Everything's going to be okay; everything's going to be alright," he said in my ear. The day flew by, and I got up and went to my computer desk and began writing poems. Since 2000 I have been writing poetry. This is the day Jesus and his presence changed my life. I didn’t have another beer or cigarette for the rest of the day. I went celibate and only got sick after ten years of celibacy. I had left Louisville, KY, and come to California. I got some news I wasn't expecting. HIV positive, three years later AIDS with dentia associated with AIDS, two weeks to live. Still here. No help, severe depression, or dementia. I now write books, movies, gospel stage plays, and poetry. I am a motivational speaker and inventor of a kitchen product. I will share more about how I got AIDS and who gave it to me. I want to dedicate this work to my mother, Minister Joyce Lawler, who prayed me into Jesus' existence. She advised me to play after each poem that I write, Divine Words inspired by the Holy Spirit written by Twana
