A year flew by…
The Red Full Moon rose slowly into the sky, casting a crimson glow over the Kingdom of Turandia. The air was thick with magic. Everyone could feel it - something ancient and dangerous stirring in the darkness.
And for a whole year, the kingdom had been preparing.
In the eastern fields, Aylania and Sabian trained every morning with Thalen. The old priest guided them gently but firmly, helping Aylania focus her healing magic and teaching Sabian to speak to animals without letting their emotions overwhelm him.
"Let the power flow through you," Thalen said. "But do not let it become you."
Sabian could now call a bird from the sky with a whisper. Aylania had healed a wounded deer in seconds - but still needed rest after.
"Slowly," Thalen reminded. "You're strong, but still growing."
In the castle, King Theros led the knights. The courtyard rang with clashing swords and steady commands.
"We must protect the borders," the King said. "Not just with swords - but with unity."
Queen Elira worked with the villagers. They dried herbs, made potions, and filled jars of food for the shelters. She taught gentle hands to heal and reminded everyone:
"Courage also lives in small, quiet hands."
And when the moon finally turned red, everyone was ready.
A cold wind howled through the rainforest. From its depths came creatures twisted by magic - wolves with glowing eyes, snakes that slithered without sound, birds that screamed like thunder.
"He's calling them," Sabian whispered. "They don't want to fight. They're afraid."
Then, the battle began.
Knights clashed with enchanted beasts. Villagers helped each other to safety. Queen Elira moved from tent to tent, healing wounds and lifting spirits.
Aylania stood at the temple's edge, her hands glowing soft blue as she calmed panicked animals.
Sabian darted through trees, guiding frightened eagles back to the skies.
And then, from the deepest shadow, Seradyn appeared.
His cloak billowed like a storm. His eyes burned with wild, swirling magic. Silent animals crept behind him, their minds bound by invisible strings.
"You cannot stop me," Seradyn hissed. "This kingdom turned its back on me. Now it will kneel."
King Theros stepped forward.
"You chose your path. We choose to protect."
Aylania and Sabian stood by their parents.
"We are not afraid," Aylania said, though her knees trembled.
"The kingdom stands together now," Sabian added.
Seradyn raised a hand. A wave of darkness shot forward like a storm.
Magic clashed in the air - light and shadow twisting like fire.
Sabian dodged, fast as a fox. The ground behind him cracked. He rolled, sprang up, and climbed a wall to see better.
Aylania kept healing - a knight's leg, a frantic deer - always watching her brother.
"Too slow!" Seradyn roared, sending another burst of shadow.
But Sabian was calm. Watching.
And then he noticed it.
"He hesitates… just before using his magic," Sabian whispered. "It drains him."
"Ayla! Now!"
Aylania didn't question him. She raised her hands. Light pulsed outward - not to hurt, but to clear the heavy air.
For just one second, Seradyn faltered.
Sabian sprinted forward, drawing on the courage of every creature he'd ever known. He moved like the fox, flew like the hawk.
With a cry, he leapt and struck Seradyn's staff.
It cracked.
Seradyn staggered, cloak torn, magic flickering.
"No!" he growled, falling to his knees.
Sabian stood over him, breathing hard.
"He's hurt… We should help him."
King Theros stepped beside him.
"Not all evil ends in a day. But mercy is strength too."
Queen Elira approached quietly.
"This doesn't have to end with hate. You chose power. We chose each other."
Seradyn looked up. His fury dimmed.
Sabian stepped closer.
"I don't know if you'll ever change. But I know I don't want to become like you."
Aylania placed her hand on Seradyn's arm - not to heal, but to offer something deeper:
Compassion.
The Red Moon still glowed, but the air had changed.
The battle was over.
Turandia had not just won -
it had chosen to win with mercy.
