“Let’s split up. You and Anjali can look for Sammy on the right side, and I will go towards the left side,” said John and walked away. Anjali had captured the entire recording on her camera. She replaced the tape with a new one and continued looking for Sammy along with Manu.
John began hearing commands and marching noises. It sounded like someone giving instructions and a group of people marching wearing boots. He heard horses neighing and running as if something was happening near him. Confusion was evident on his face. His vision blacked out…
Anjali and Manu could hear two people talking. As they walked further, the conversation subsided. Suddenly, Anjali saw a few strands of hair behind a tree. Manu warned her not to go, as it might be a ghost or a trap. Anjali ignored him and went near. She saw Sammy covered in red liquid, probably blood, sitting and crying by the tree. Sammy looked at Anjali with a weird smile and spoke in a horrible voice, “Now, it’s your turn” and began laughing like a maniac.

John opened his eyes, and all he could see was a blur. Slowly, his eyes began focusing. He was lying down in the room where they had played Ouija board. Next to him was Anjali, lying with blood on her clothes. John tried to get up from the floor but couldn’t move. He screamed, but no voice came out. All he could see was Manu dressed in old & traditional attire, staring at him, emotionless. Manu spoke, “Why did you kill my brothers? We used to pray for our ancestors here, and you captured the land from us. Now you see what my ancestors did to you. They gave you this punishment.” He began laughing uncontrollably at John. John could only look back at Manu but became unconscious.

Machines were beeping around Sammy. “Doctor, she has opened her eyes”. The nurse told the doctor, who began checking Sammy’s vitals. Manu stood near the doctor and looked at Sammy with worry. “What happened to me? Where are John and Anjali?” Sammy asked Manu, but he asked her to relax. He assured her that John and Anjali were both fine.
Manu said,
“All of us had hallucinated. At least, that's what I understood. Anjali and John were summoning ghosts in the room with the help of a Ouija board. I felt light-headed and blacked out on the chair. When I woke up, I saw John and Anjali. Anjali’s hand was injured, and John had a head injury. You were nowhere to be seen. I contacted emergency services. They were reluctant to come, but one brave nurse decided to drive all by himself and assured me he would help me find you, as well as provide emergency treatment to Anjali and John. He found you unconscious near the main gate of the mansion. With his help, we brought you and the others to the hospital. Their injuries were minor, but you were unconscious for a week now.
Anjali and John had different versions of their experiences, which I felt was a hallucination, but I don’t understand how they were injured. There is no explanation for all of this. I am the only one without any injuries. We are the first and only people who came out of that mansion alive. Let’s think of it all as a dream. By the way, what happened to you? How did you end up near the gate?”
“Things are still unclear to me, but a woman’s voice kept telling me to run away from the mansion. She told me not to think of anyone and just run away. She assured me everyone would be fine and that I needed to run to save myself from the entities in this mansion. I tripped on a tree stump lying across the gate and fell. That’s all I remember. I am glad that you, John and Anjali are fine.” said Sammy.
