The Manifestation
The atmosphere thickened. A blast of cold wind swept through, lifting curtains and tossing books into the air. The bunks vibrated violently, throwing Tomide off balance. Chucks clung to the iron bunk shouting, "Daniel my boy! Na you get the matter! If you leave us ehn, we don die finish!"
A strange sound broke out - a feminine voice, guttural yet chilling.
"Who are you?" it demanded. "What power is this that dares defy us here? Who brought such fire into our territory?"
As the voice spoke, three shadows condensed into visible forms. A tall, beautiful but hideous woman cloaked in scales stood before Daniel. Behind her were three grotesque servants, their limbs elongated, faces twisted, eyes burning blue like drowned corpses.
The boys screamed. Kehinde fell flat. "Blood of Jesusss! They have come for us ooo!"
Taju clutched his chest. "Ye! Heart attack will kill me before the demon sef!"
Tomori wet himself, stammering, "Why… why… why did I sleep here today?"
Philip slapped his own head. "My mama warned me not to leave Bible on top bed. See me now!"
The marine spirits hissed, circling. But Daniel rose to his feet, sweat soaking him from shirt to boxers. His face glowed. His lips quivered with tongues. He lifted his hands.
"The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life, of whom shall I be afraid? When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell! Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear; though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident!"
The words slammed into the spirits. They staggered backward, colliding with the entrance door. With a deafening crack, the door tore off its hinges, flying outward into the corridor. The boys outside were knocked to the floor, crying in pain as wind hurled them against the walls.
Inside, Daniel's roommates were suddenly flung like ragdolls. One by one, they crashed out of the broken door, groaning and screaming in pain.
"Ahhh! My waist ooo!" Tomide howled.
"Jesus! My leg don break!" Chucks rolled on the ground.
"They're carrying us away ooo!" Kehinde shrieked.
The Battlefield Expands
Outside, commotion erupted. Dozens of students had gathered, drawn by the shaking building. But the scene before them froze their courage. The entire block was covered in unnatural darkness - thick, suffocating, and alive. Yet within that gloom, Daniel blazed like a torch, light and smoke radiating from him as though his body burned with unseen fire.
The ground quaked. Windows shattered across the hostel. Students screamed, running for safety.
The fellowship leaders arrived in a rush - Gbade of Foursquare, Raymond of Gospel Faithful Mission, Joshua of Mountain of Fire, Timothy of Winners, Alade of Christ Apostolic, and Fola of Dunamis - each flanked by their exco members. They stopped dead at the sight.
Gbade whispered, trembling, "This is no ordinary battle."
Joshua snarled, fire already rising. "Marine agents think they can withstand the army of the Lord? Not tonight!"
Fola lifted his Bible high. "Let God arise, and His enemies be scattered!"
They burst into tongues. Fire-tongues, warlike tongues, tongues that split the darkness. Each leader roared decrees:
Raymond: "By the blood of Jesus, every throne of the marine kingdom is broken tonight!"
Joshua: "Every serpent spirit, catch fire in the name of Jesus!"
Timothy: "The God of Elijah answer by firerrr!"
Alade: "For it is written: He gave us power to tread upon serpents and scorpions!"
Fola: "You stronghold of darkness, hear the Word of the Lord, you are shattered forever!"
Gbade: "You territorial queen, your time is up! Release this campus by the fire of the Holy Ghost!"
As they spoke, the marine queen shrieked in fury. Reinforcements materialized - thirty-five more spirits, grotesque, armored in darkness, advancing with a roar like a hurricane.
The block shook violently. Doors tore off hinges, glass windows exploded outward, mattresses spun in the air like feathers. Students screamed, scattering, yet many froze, transfixed by the terrifying glory of the war unfolding.
Power In The Word
Daniel raised his voice again, higher, stronger. His body shook, yet fire light engulfed him. His eyes locked on the marine queen.
"He that dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty… I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and fortress, my God, in Him will I trust!"
As he spoke, his voice deepened, layered like a thousand warriors speaking at once. He declared each line of Psalm 91, but each word became a blow:
"Surely He shall deliver me from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence!" - a whip of fire lashed out, striking one spirit down.
"He shall cover me with His feathers, under His wings shall I trust!" - wings of blazing light unfurled behind Daniel, shaking the heavens.
"Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night, nor the arrow that flieth by day!" - the demons screamed, staggering backward as arrows of fire shot through the darkness.
"A thousand shall fall at my side, and ten thousand at my right hand; but it shall not come near me!" - ten spirits burst into ash.
The fellowship presidents shouted in agreement, blasting tongues, scripture, decrees. Their combined voices thundered with Daniel's, shaking the ground like a quake. Students miles away reported hearing thunder, though the sky was clear.
As Daniel finished - "With long life will I satisfy him, and show him my salvation!" And he laughed and said "It is written in Psalm 27:1-2 "The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell." and then he shouted! O GOD OF MY FATHER ENOCH ADEBOYE! ARISE AND LET MY ENEMIES BE SCATTERED! Immediately,a shockwave of fire exploded outward.
The marine queen shrieked. Her body tore into fragments of smoke and vanished. Her servants howled as they combusted into dust. The thirty-five reinforcements shrieked, fleeing into the night, vanishing like rats into sewers.
Silence fell.
Daniel collapsed to his knees, trembling, soaked in sweat. His body steamed as though he had been pulled from fire.
Around him, hundreds of students fell to the ground, crying in repentance, wailing in fear, confessing sins aloud. The fellowship leaders wept in awe. The hostel - though ruined - had become holy ground.
