It was the Sky Keeper, with eyes like glowing lanterns and a voice deep as thunder.
"Colors are powerful," the Keeper warned. "They can heal, but they can also harm. Will you use them with care?"
Chulo nodded eagerly, clutching the brush to his chest.
The Sky Keeper faded into mist, leaving him with both excitement and responsibility.
