Previously…
Our Baddie thought she was just getting egusi and good morning texts.
Now?
She's getting unboxed feelings, surprise plans - and possibly kidnapped (romantically, of course).
She's standing in her room, half-dressed.
Robes open. Perfume mist hanging in the air.
Shoes flung across the bed.
Skin moisturised with intention.
Group chat going off:
Zee: "What's your love language again?"
Feyikemi: "Money."
Didi: "Mines touch."
Her: "A man who knows how to cook. That's the real slutty flex."
Just then…
Chef texts:
"Can I drop you at the spa?"
She blinks.
She was about to book her Uber.
This man knows timing.
He pulls up, looking edible in a black tee and fresh twists.
The playlist? Neo-soul.
The scent? Expensive and slightly dangerous.
They drive.
The air is calm… until it's not.
She steps out at the spa.
Fixes her lip gloss.
Then hears that voice.
"Omo. Long time. You still fine sha."
She turns.
Amala Boda.
Not an ex.
Just a bad decision.
A Lagos situationship that left her overthinking and underwhelmed.
He's smirking. Wearing the shirt.
Yes, that one.
Chef glances.
"Friend of yours?"
She exhales slowly.
"Just one of those men that stain your white."
Chef doesn't laugh.
He just opens the door and says,
"Text me when you're done."
Spa is soft.
Skin is glowing.
But peace? Disturbed.
Group chat erupts:
Zee: "Was that Amala Boda?! I thought he went to Canada?"
Feyikemi: "Not Canada. Karma."
Didi: "Tell Chef o! Let him know you've seen Lagos wickedness firsthand."
She just sends a voice note:
"I'm not explaining men again this year. They'll explain me."
Next morning.
She's still in her robe.
Eating cereal with no milk (because NEPA).
Then - a knock.
Chef is at the door.
He's holding flowers, his apron, and a smile that knows what it's doing.
"You trust me yet?"
She's about to respond with sarcasm when he says,
"Come with me. Don't overthink it."
He steps in.
Ties the apron over her robe.
Then - he blindfolds her.
"Ah ahn. Is this my favorite scene from 50 Shades of Grey or are we washing beans?"
"Just vibes," he whispers.
"First stop - Legend Hotel."
They arrive.
A room key.
A suitcase.
Room service already laid out.
She's about to ask what's going on when he says:
"I want to cook for you. But not just in Lagos."
She laughs.
"Abeg, are we entering night bus?"
He grins.
"Nope. We're flying. Small trip. Just to show you my Abuja kitchen."
She blinks.
"Abuja ke?"
"You'll be back before you know it. I booked return for tomorrow night."
She knows this is insane.
She should say no.
Instead?
She opens the suitcase.
"Please tell me you packed skincare."
The plane takes off.
She glances at him.
He's watching her. Not the view.
She types in her Notes App:
"When a man feeds you, surprises you, and books your flight? That's not love. That's spiritual warfare."
