BATTLE THREE - Langris & Mars VS. Sylven
Torches flicker. Sylven stands ready, daggers forged with chilling ice magic.
Mars and Langris finds him
Sylven
"Mercy births weakness. Only annihilation brings peace. Today I will prove this to you, Mars."
MARS (furious)
Nonsense! Peace built on blood is nothing but suffering!
They clash - Mars goes from defensive magic spells to close combat swordplay, because of how Asta once defeated him, Langris tearing space making evasions harder for the ice assassin.
Sylven's past flashes before his eyes:
He remembers being homeless, an orphan and being taken in by the obsidian government, he remembers the dehumanizing training he went through, he remembers meeting young Sullyn and her toxic rivalry, he remembers becoming an elite and being
praised for the kingdom's peace at the time.
Suddenly, GENRO ambushes - stabbing Langris from the back
Genro (silently)
"Don't interfere, outsider" Genro says under his voice.
Langris coughs blood* "well you're right but I will make you regret coming out of hiding you bastard!"
Honing his mana sensory and having learn from his Rival, Yuno. Langris activates Mana Zone, He senses Genro's invisible presence and erases his arm and a leg with an arch angel wing beat after several dodges, defeating him. Then, faints from exhaustion
*Mars, burns with Asta-inspired willpower, fights Sylven one-on-one. They both unleash a barrage of high class spells until their mana runs dry, then finally they fight with bare hands.
Sylven:
"We suffered for this kingdom Mars, let's make sure our suffering wasn't in vain, we must, at all costs let peace reign over this kingdom to make our suffering worth something!"
Finally on the verge of collapse, Sylven summons his last ice dagger but Mars reacts quickly and stabs him with his own blade. Sylven falls and Mars shouts victoriously
Mars stands over Sylven and says:
"I was once like you Sylven, and that cold hearted made me unjustly hurt people. But I changed thanks to a friend I made.
"Your heart carries a flame Mars, my heart has always been cold" says Sylven taking his last breath.
