The first note came on a Tuesday morning. Elara found it gently taped to her window, the paper
fluttering in the breeze. It had only one line written in beautiful handwriting:
"You are braver than you feel."
There was no name, no hint of who had left it. But her heart whispered a name anyway - Eli.
Each day that followed, a new note arrived.
"The rain doesn't always bring sorrow."
"Dreams don't die. Sometimes, they just wait for you to be ready."
They weren't love letters, yet they made her feel seen in a way no one ever had. She hadn't spoken to Eli since that rainy evening. But somehow, he was still around silently encouraging her through words on paper. One day, she finally decided to respond. She taped a small note on her own window:
"Thank you for making the rain feel lighter."
The next morning, there was no new letter. Elara's heart sank. But that evening, as she returned from
class, she found a small brown envelope slipped into her notebook in the library. Inside was a longer note:
"I never thought someone like you would notice someone like me. But I've watched you carry storms in silence. And I wanted to leave something behind that felt like sunshine."
It was signed:
**- Eli-**
And for the first time, Elara smiled with tears in her eyes. Maybe love didn't need grand declarations. Sometimes, it just needed a window... and a few kind words to slip through.
