I believe I once looked into one of the eyes the Devil controls. One of his many adversaries stood infront of me as we stared at one another. I could tell his smile was false, and that the words he spoke were false. Each movement, each sound, each twitch in his eye, all methodical and planned. I could tell he often stood in front of his mirror, practicing being human. He wore his cross necklace over his clothes, ensuring it didn’t touch his skin. I feel if it did, he would burn and expose his true nature. He went to church often, holding his hands together and bowing his head in prayer. But I wonder, who did he pray to? The God whose name he spoke so easily or for the greedy and lustful desires that Satan promised to him? I remember the first day we spoke. I couldn’t explain the feeling. He was such a kind spoken person with a kind smile, yet every time I looked into his eyes my entire body filled with terror. I wonder if he could sense how fearful he made me? I thought at first it was a crush and these were nerves. But then I never wanted to kiss him, nor sleep with him. I remember the first time I was alone with him. A voice inside of me screaming to run. I think it was my motherly instincts trying to protect the last slimmer of childlike innocence I had. Of course, like any stubborn child, I did not listen. When you put an angel in the room with a demon, who will win the fight? Thou who swear to bring peace and harmony, to protect the humans. Or thou who swore to punish humans for his jealous desires? You want the angel to live, but the angel doesn’t spend her every living day manipulating and torturing. So the demon wins, realistically. Every time.
