This is my story, but do you want to hear it? Let's start at the beginning. When I was a little kid, I talked a lot, often making the people around me uncomfortable. By the time I was seven, I had no friends because I preferred to be alone. But when high school began, I felt like there was a light shining down, giving me a chance to start fresh, to reinvent myself into someone new.
My story starts on the first day of school, at the start of summer. I walked into the classroom to stay productive, but when I entered, I froze. I had no idea where to sit.
"Hey, over here!" my friend called out to me, laughing at my awkwardness. "Why are you staring like that?"
During recess, I was sitting with my friend when I noticed a guy with black hair. I don't know why, but it felt like the first time I was falling in love. It was a strange feeling, like something I had never experienced before. I felt like I was really in high school now.
The next day, I found myself following him. For a whole week, I wasn't sure if he noticed me or not. But then one day, as I was following him, a girl and her friends saw me.
"Who's that boy?" the girl asked.
"Oh, him? That's Oliver Lake," my friend replied.
I felt a little embarrassed but asked my friend who she was. "Kyla Tuben," he answered.
Over the next two months, I spent more time with a guy named Erworn Smith. We got closer, though I couldn't explain how. But one thing was for sure - I could feel it. I was going to succeed. This was my chance.
