About SOMA GHOSH (TUKU)

Welcome to my site on Short Story Lovers! Here, you`ll find a curated collection of my stories and thoughts.

I am SOMA GHOSH ( TUKU) from Kolkata, India, with an M.A. in English Literature degree from Jadavpur University in my coffer. Being the daughter of a teacher and an acclaimed author in Bengali, I have teaching and writing in my genes and both are my passion. Besides being a successful teacher of English in renowned schools in Bengal, I have a successful track record in writing content and short stories.

As an author, I`m dedicated to the art of storytelling. Words have the incredible ability to connect people, evoke emotions, and inspire change. Through my stories, I hope to take you on unique journeys, exploring diverse themes and perspectives.

I am a Bengali and a mother of twins who has spent a considerable span of life in Bengal apart from traveling to many other parts of India and abroad. It has enriched me with a treasure trove of experience enabling me to understand the uniqueness of various gems of stories of people and life from different parts of the globe, especially those of Bengal, a land of highly rich cultural heritage. The land called Bengal is wonderfully diverse and the society unbelievably dichotomous, wherein poverty juxtaposes with affluence, penury with luxury, and illiteracy with enlightenment. Life in Bengal, in fact, is a constant adventure, and I`m thrilled to have you along for the ride.

In my stories, I prefer to showcase the multi–layered mosaic of emotions of the people of Bengal, their joys and sorrows, their hopes and despair, their simplicity and shrewdness, their vulnerabilities and volatilities, their beliefs and betrayals, in short, THREADS OF EMOTIONS ENTWINED.

I prefer the short story format keeping in mind the limitations in time and attention span of readers who might find it tough to juggle several other commitments. Besides, this format is perfect for me to present the fascinating snippets of life in the Indian side of Bengal.

Thank you for being a part of my writing journey. Enjoy the stories, and feel free to share your thoughts.
