Once again - a pallid old man,

this time adorned with tats galore,

rams the horn at another stop sign

he barely acknowledges - blows right past -

as he pilots his oversized compensation machine.

Small and shriveled - yes, perhaps his brain -

driving through the sign, ignoring the sedan

that arrived first, waiting proper, waiting patient.

Tell me, old man - why so rushed?

Why so deaf to common sense?

Why must your beast of chrome and pride

crush my right-of-way beneath its tires?

I waited - I knew the law.

But you, sunglasses perched,

goatee gleaming like some devil of bad timing,

barreled through impatience incarnate.

One second, old douchebag - that's all it takes -

stop at the sign, as law demands.

But your flaw? A roaring ignorance.

Your eyesore of a truck

thunders past decency and decorum,

while I - in my modest sedan - know better.

Know to wait, to yield, to breathe.

And yet - here you are.

Roaring through the rules

you should have mastered by now.
