I can still remember that day when our father left us. One late afternoon, he decided to turn his back on us. What I remember is he gave me junk food and waved goodbye. I waved back to him because I didn't know what was happening. I thought he was just going back to his work in the city. The city is just a 2-hour distance from our place. It is still clear in my mind how I was watching him when he turned away, walked, and never looked back. At that time, we were used to him not going home for a week due to his job, but he never came back to us after a week. Days passed by, and our father didn't come home anymore. We didn't hear anything from him anymore. Some people asked us where he was but we couldn't provide them with answers because we don't know where he is anymore.

After few months, my mother tried seeking for information about my father's whereabouts. Lucky my mom was, a guy that came from another city, which is our neighbor, told her that he saw my father near the place he was staying. My mom immediately booked a ticket to go where my father was and she also brought my 3-month old little sister. So, me and my older brother were left to my grandparents. Do you know what my mom saw? She saw my father with a pregnant lady. I know mom was hurt but she still stayed in that city, but not with them. Mom stayed in her aunt-in-law for a year with a little support from my father just enough for my baby sister. Years passed by, my mom came home with my little sister. I bet my mother realized her worth. So clearly, our father chose his mistress and not my mom, not us his kids. That's when I started to hate him and put in mind that I don't have a father. He hurt my mother and us so I'm also going to hurt him by not recognizing him as my father.
