The village elders were shocked. They gathered at the shrine house, the most sacred place in Umuoko. Nene laid out the photos. Musa read from the journal.
The chief elder shook his head slowly. "We have eaten and drank with a monster," he said.
The entire council voted unanimously: Dr. Dogo had to be exposed.
That same evening, the town crier beat his gong, calling the youths. Word spread fast. The youth gathered, armed with sticks and machetes. This was no longer a secret.
They stormed the clinic.
Dr. Dogo heard them coming. He tried to escape through the back but was tackled by Musa. The crowd dragged him into the open. He screamed, cursed, begged.
The forbidden room was opened. Villagers saw the truth with their own eyes. Wailing broke out. Mothers collapsed. Young men wept in rage.
The priest was called. He confirmed the worst: Dogo had made a covenant with a blood demon. Every death had been deliberate. The ritual was real.
The people had been feeding the devil with their silence.
