Ch30 The Calm Before the Storm

Chapter Thirty: The Calm Before the Storm

The quiet after the battle with the Wild Hunt was eerie. The pack had survived, but at what cost? The threat still lingered in the shadows. Seraphine could feel it deep within her soul - the weight of her growing power, the strain of having two powerful mates, and the undeniable fact that she was the ultimate target of the Wild Hunt. The pressure to complete the bond between her and Azrael and Kairos was becoming suffocating.

Each of them had their own responsibilities - Azrael had his dark realm and his faction to manage, and Kairos had the pack to lead. But Seraphine was still caught in the middle, trying to balance everything. And while the two men were willing to work together for her sake, their bond was fragile. She could feel the tension between them - unspoken, simmering just beneath the surface.

Tonight, as the full moon bathed the land in silver light, Seraphine stood by the edge of the forest. She could feel the magic of the land, the way it called to her. The mark from Azrael and Kairos had been made, but there was still something missing. She wasn't fully bonded yet - not in the way they needed her to be. She had to complete the connection.

Her thoughts were interrupted when Azrael and Kairos appeared at either side of her, their presence filling the air. They both looked at her - Azrael with his usual intensity, and Kairos with a steady, calm gaze.

"Is it time?" Kairos asked, his voice steady but filled with something deeper.

Seraphine turned to face them both. "It is," she said softly. "I can feel the weight of it, the power building within me. But we still haven't completed the bond. If we don't, the Wild Hunt will come for me and for you. And I'm done with us being divided."

Azrael stepped forward, his dark eyes piercing her. "You know what this means, Seraphine. Once we complete the bond, there's no going back. We'll be tied - fully - to one another. And the Wild Hunt will see us as a force they must eliminate."

Seraphine nodded. "I know. But it's the only way forward."

She felt the tension between Azrael and Kairos. Both were powerful in their own right, and yet, they had been reluctant to fully embrace the bond. It was time to end the hesitation, to solidify their unity.

"I'm ready," Seraphine said firmly. "If we want to survive this, we need to make the bond complete. Now. Right here."
