Ch23 The Strength of Unity

Chapter Twenty-Three: The Strength of Unity

The next several days were filled with preparation. The Wild Hunt had been driven back, but they weren't gone. Kairos knew that the Hunt would be back for him, for his pack, and for Seraphine. It was only a matter of time before the Huntsman would return to finish what he had started.

Azrael had remained in the shadows, still unsure of his place in this new order. He had always been a prince, a ruler of his own fate, but now, standing at Kairos's side, he was forced to reckon with the new reality. He was no longer the only one in control. Kairos had claimed his place as alpha, and with that, their dynamic had shifted in ways that neither of them had expected.

Seraphine stood between them - between Kairos, her second mate, and Azrael, her first. But the weight of the decision she had made, the choice to embrace both of them, was becoming clearer with each passing day. The world was changing around them, and if they were to survive what was coming, they would need to work together.

Calyx, Kairos's beta, played a crucial role in this new reality. As part vampire, part wolf shifter, he had always been an outsider. But now, with the pack in disarray, he was the bridge between the vampire and shifter factions, the one who could maintain unity when so much threatened to tear them apart. His position as beta was more than just a title. It was a responsibility - to both the pack and to Seraphine.

As the days turned into weeks, Seraphine felt the weight of what was coming. The Wild Hunt was not finished. They had merely retreated, waiting for the perfect moment to strike again. But Kairos, Azrael, and the pack were stronger than before. And together, they would stand ready for whatever the Hunt threw their way.
