Nephinae Aeries is the Princess of the Light Elves. She left her kingdom to get some food from the nearby village, which her parents ruled. The villagers adore her for being strong-willed, kind, and always speaking her mind. As she walked down the long path toward the village, she saw smoke from afar and began to get worried. Thugs often try to steal from the village, but the guards usually handle it. Unfortunately, her guards were not with her, so she could not help in any way. Concerned, she turned around and rushed back to her castle. She heard cheering coming from the village and explosions shook the ground. She yelled out for her family but only her mother and sister rushed to her aid, but her father was nowhere to be found. Worried, she asked, "Where's dad?"

"He went to the village to help the elders." Nephinae looked horrified. "But the village-" Her mother interrupted her, "It's just another earthquake caused by the earth elves. And the smoke is from the fire elves' training. Don't worry." She reassured her daughter. Nephinae nodded, got up, and brushed off her dress. "Did you tell Dad to get food too?" she asked her mother. Her mother replied with a nod, "He will be back soon, honey." Nephinae turned around and asked, "Mom, can I go check?" She was concerned. Before her mother could answer, Nephinae hurried down the path, took off her heels, and lifted her dress to avoid getting the hem dirty with dirt.

Her eyes widened in horror as she witnessed the fire spreading rapidly, caused by the fire elves. She could see that the elves were not practicing their fire skills, but were attacking the village. She knew she had to act fast to save the villagers. Dodging the fireballs raining down from the sky, she rushed in to help. She saw the villagers getting hit with fireballs and trying to escape. The entire village was engulfed in flames. Desperately, she yelled out to everyone, "Listen! Follow me!" The villagers ran towards her, quickly making their way up the path to safety. "Go, guys!" She encouraged them. The villagers were grateful and relieved, thanking her for her help.

She was a light elf, the most powerful kind of elf out there, but she didn't know what to do. She wasn't skilled in many spells. Suddenly, a gang of thugs appeared and began running towards her. In a quick attempt to defend herself, she shouted "Ljslfar!" and a burst of light came out of her palm, blinding the thugs and allowing her to escape. She ran towards the castle, hoping to find her dad there. Once she arrived, she asked frantically, "Guys, where's my dad? Did you see him?" However, an elderly woman slowly spoke up and said, "Darling, he was protecting us but... he was..." She looked down, unable to finish her sentence. Nephinae looked horrified and tears began to well up in her eyes. She asked, not wanting to say anything more, "Is he...?" The woman nodded, confirming Nephinae's worst fears.

She was extremely frightened. She sat next to her mother and cried, burying her face into her shoulder. After wiping her eyes, she got up and spoke with determination, "Guys! We won't let the humans wipe us out, got it!?" Her sister, Nylie, joined her and pulled out mattresses from the closet for the villagers to sleep on. Nephinae dragged a mattress to a corner and went to sleep. Early in the morning, she woke up before anyone else and went outside. She examined the burnt-down trees and felt a fiery passion within her. She went back inside and searched through the closet, hoping to find something that would help her train. Finally, she found her father's old training clothes.
